I took a Christmas tree decorating class years ago....they recommend 100 lights per foot....and wrap the branches with the lights.... Your tree is gorgeous!! ❤

I used to start out wrapping the TRUNK with white lights, then continued on with light the branches the normal way. It made such a difference when the tree was all done.

I did a giant Black Velvet bow with the ends flowing down as my topper with a antique brass/gold and capiz shell star. Along with a ton of vintage glass, brass, silver, gold, ornaments that I have thrifted over the years. I also thrifted some large rattan bows last year and I am in love with them!

I love Christmas tree shopping! I lived on a tree farm here in Oregon for over 3 years (I ran an event venue in an 17,000 sq ft amazing old home) & I loved every minute of it! I will say that the amount of work & effort it takes to run a Christmas tree farm is beyond comprehension. Although I wasn’t running the tree farm side of the business, my partner was, I learned a lot about it. It was so awesome having every type of green available to make garlands, wreaths, etc. & I needed a lot since it was such a huge venue. Anyway, this was such a fun video tree shopping with the both of you. Thank you for sharing. 🎄🎄🎄

I absolutely loved this video! It was so fun watching Kingsley’s taking, and trying to take those ornaments off the tree because my Teeny would do that. She’d take all the ornaments off she could reach, and put then under the tree. As soon as I put them back on, she’d take them back off. She was a toot, but just adorable! Love seeing how excited you and Romeo both are for Christmas. Romeo is so agreeable, supportive, caring, loving, and fun I love seeing him in your videos. “Put it where you want it….nooooo” 😂. That’s very relatable. I love these videos with the two of you guys! More sparse trees like that are my favorite. I miss having a real tree. We have real candles on our tree, but I must admit, I don’t like to burn them because it freaks me out. I think next year I will have to try the clip on battery operated ones. I have a string of the candle lights on a tree by my door but I don’t like the spacing between the candles, it’s quite limiting so the types that you bought seem much better.

Rewatching this episode, and Kinsley playing with the ornaments reminded me of when my son, who is now 52, was young. My sisters and grandmother made non-breakable ornaments for the bottom of the tree, and I still hang them every year.

I think the cottage content was so beautiful to watch from scratch to what it's become. Maccenna is just so inspiring with all her DIY's. LA seems to be more about her new life, which is nice to see how shes making it more a home for their future family. She's accomplished so much, and I really do love and admire that. The DIYs are what i was originally drawn to. She is evolving, and I am following along. very happy for her.

It’s interesting about how we all have such different tastes in trees. I prefer full, dense trees with the lights and ornamental treatment just the icing on the cake. That’s what keeps life interesting, the fact that no one is exactly the same 🫶👍❤️

You’re right on. You could use 50 to 100 lights for the top. But it’s so sparse you might opt for 2 strands of 50. 100 count strand might be too much. Having worked for a decade at a Seasonal retail store, as well as a specialty Christmas decorating warehouse, for Center Courts of major malls across the country, the rule of thumb for lighting trees, was 100 lights per foot of tree height. More lights for a more dense tree.

Why not move the sectional? You could have the back of your sectional face your desk, adding the end piece on near the wall, then put the two chair backs facing your bedroom? That way all den furniture has access to see the tv and you avoid the awkward area between your sectional and bedroom....

Loving watching Kinsley being mischievous and then giving puppy dog eyes when you take Bauble off her. Always been baffled by how big the States are in America. I live in England and my county North Yorkshire (which is the biggest county). We can drive through the whole thing in an hour. It takes from York to London 4 hours in the car, and that's 205 miles, and we go through at least 10 other counties, maybe more. xx
