I hike up a mountain side in the morning to catch a glimpse of the sunrise. The sunset is only three hours after sunrise, which means the light stays orange and pink throughout. As the days get shorter I try to spend as much time outside in the light as possible.
From the mountain side I have a view towards Henningsvær and the ocean. In the distance I can see mainland Norway covered in clouds.

The visuals are just so damn beautiful 👏🏻 And I'm so amazed by the colors trough the whole video. I guess 10bit helps alot, but i struggle alot to get the same "look" trough different lighting and situations. You attention to details are spot on and i really enjoy this videos both from a technical and visual perspectiv. Thank you again for a great cup of coffee.... I had Friele, what did you get? 🤣 Cheers

Thank you Thomas! 🙏🏻 Yeah, it's not always easy to keep the grading looking consistent, but I think it's extra challenging for you when you change locations quickly and also use several different cameras. I'm mainly affected when I change angle and when the light itself changes. And yes, 10 bit and log does help. Haha! Not much Friele being sold up here, but I found that the Nescafé Azera Espresso is decent as an instant option. Of course, nothing beats steeped coffee with fresh ground beans. 😋

Hello Kristian. I've been following you for quite sometime now and I'm always amazed by scandinavian scenery. When it comes to visual storytelling, you are one of few people on youtube who inspired me. I've learned so much from your storytelling. This is the kind of story I wanna tell trough my frames; silence and only the beauty. Greetings from Indonesia.

Hi there! Wow, thank you and thanks for leaving a comment. Your visuals and storytelling is on point. Great work! It also seems we have a lot in common and have read many of the same books. I look forward to see the continuation of your story.

Beautiful video! those were some steep parts getting up there in the beginning of the video. I love how you can almost hear the silence out there, so peaceful. Also that shot of that mountain side being painted with the orange morning light, breathtaking!

Thanks Arjan! Indeed, and the benefit is that the views changes quickly as you ascend. Yeah, some of the taller mountains around here are quite fascinating, because they seem like they've just come out of a a freezer with a white coating. I belive it's because they often reach into the clouds, and the moisture in the clouds freezes around the rocks. So when the sun hits it it reflects the colors a lot more than just regular snow.

Another great edit, love the views over the little town and the sunlit mountains. So sunrise is around noon there at the moment or does the sun not come over the horizon at all? Looking forward to maybe see some Northern lights in your videos this winter. Good luck!

Thank you! 🙏🏻 So this was shot on November 26, and on that day it was about three hours between sunrise and sunset. The sun starts to go down again just around noon, so as the days get shorter both sunrise and sunset will edge closer to noon. On this day it never completely rose above the horizon, and since there's mountains and clouds on the horizon it's hard to see it. As of this last weekend (December 6) the sun stays beneath the horizon until the beginning of January. It will be interesting to see how the videos will look in a few weeks. 😄 Yes, I'm hoping to capture some northern lights soon! I'm keeping an eye out for it, so we'll see. Thanks!
