I'am so surprised that you called yourself a slob. In private I also call myself that, but I am trying to do better..My father was also a slob, but not to slander him, he was a wonderful business man, husband and father. But, he was indeed a slob, and that is not calling anybody a putdown name, just means you are messy in general. I love your youtubes.

I am loving seeing how you cluster tasks together while you are in a given area! It gets done that way before you know it ! I was also inspired on another of your videos showing your vacuuming, immediately followed by the mopping ! I like both the Flylady routines and those of Clean Mama , where the Weekly Home Blessing gets split up over the days of the week , but if I can get tasks done sooner and more efficiently , so much the better ! I am 77, so some days my energy is low and I need to split up the tasks over the week . But it all gets done eventually!
@nickyturner4722 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this. I love how you have modified some of the Flylady principles. I got overwhelmed by the prospect of a daily swish and swipe with four bathrooms. I could never get to doing all four every day and I felt discouraged about it. Love your printables and not so many emails each day. Thank you for making this work for me. Appreciate your help. Awesome video 👏❤

This was great to watch and listen to what you are doing, the weekly home blessing always got me stumped and seeing that it's not trying to do a full house deep clean in one hour helps so much! I've been following you over a year (and Diane in Denmark) and been minimising with The Mininal Mom, and my house has never looked so good; my Mum has only been here twice in 2 years and yesterday she called to day she was on her way 😳 but I only need to do a quick 5 min pick up 😊 Oh yes, and that worrying about what your mum will say never ends - I'm 54 and my Mum's 76! 😆

I’ve watched this video so many times! Whenever I need some motivation this is my one of my “go-to’s” (along with your 5x5!). I can never seem to get to zone cleaning! I do my routines and I make it through the weekly home blessing, but I feel like I’m never fully cleaning anything! My home so much better, but it’s not great. One of these days I’ll make it to zone cleaning! 🤷♀️😁

Hi Steph, this video was encouraging. I re-set myself a second time this Monday, with doing my dishes, plunging my kitchen sink, and shining my sink. I made 5 trips up and down the stairs moving some supplies to storage. I have another 2 days of that - so I'm getting my exercise. I've been on lock down over 50 days with my dog. And will have to probably need to wait for a vaccine. You brightened up my day. I love the encouragement you and Diane in Denmark give!

We’ve got the laundry room to do this week in the zone, so I have one last bit to finish home blessing and zone cleaning. Mopping, which really tears up my lower back when you combine with vacuuming. This week I did li’l roomba in one room and moved the bath mopping since that’s the zone, just have the laundry room floor and usual routines and much less of a backache. Next week I’ll likely have to stretch out the mopping and vacuuming over a few days or really follow my timer. Getting efficient is important if you use the 15 minute rule, I think that’s part of the plan with the system, not getting sidetracked. Love the handy printable stuff!
@crazycroney4 жыл бұрын
Love love love. One suggestion I will make. As for the beds. We used to have 15-18 sheet sets for 3 beds. What I ended up doing was pairing it down to 2 sheet sets per bed. That way I could change the sheets and get the bedding on immediately. Then wash the dirty. Because I had a pee pee kid who was having accidents we did 3 sets for him with 3 plastic backed pads that went over the waterproof mattress covers. So in the middle of the night, if he wet the bed, we would just strip the bed put on the clean and run the pee pee in the wash. And more than one night we had 2 accidents hence the 3 sets. Sometimes the struggle is real with potty training. Also we’ve had the occasional puke in the middle of the night. That way we can easily switch out to clean sheets and bedding. Also very bed we own from the minute I bought it has a waterproof cover on it. It has saved us dozens and dozens of times!!! And not one mattress has one single stain!!

Yep, me too. Pretty sure my messiness contributed to my marriage break down. I was working 25 hours a week + 2 little ones. I was a hot mess. My mum would say, “if he gets angry about the washing not being done, can you not just do it?” She was stating an obvious fact, but somehow, I just never seemed to be able to get on top of laundry and cooking and tidying up. I was so bad at laundry that my new hubby is now in charge of that and I do all the DIY. No such thing as pink jobs and blue jobs in our house. If your good at it, it’s your job 😂

We recently got a robot vacuum (an ecovacs 920) and it was life changing. We pick up around the house and it goes into all the areas you ask it to and does a great job vacuuming. It even gets under a whole bunch of furniture and has really streamlined our cleaning. I highly recommend it! Not all robot vacuums are created equal. We like this one because it's a little smaller, gets under furniture and can even do a light mopping.

Great job. One suggestion: an O’Cedar mop does the same thing as your squirt bottle and mop. I keep one in my kitchen for quick my ups. The reason I use the O’Cedar is because you can add your own solution. You can squirt as you go right from the mop. This eliminates having to use the squirt bottle. You are one organized mom. Wish I had KZbin when my son was little.

I swear by them even in a scary time like now.

quick question (+ sorry if you answer it somewhere else :P ): Have you ever felt like the water + soap mixture makes the surfaces slightly tacky/sticky + therefore that *more* dust adheres there? (I'm speaking from a place of almost never *ever* dusting...so really just my inexperience + curiosity talking!) Thanks! I'm really enjoying your channel!

Thank you for the free printables. I, too have been a secret slob for most of my life, but recently started with Fly Lady and I'm using it to build good habits. Watching your video, I'm wondering where you got that beautiful blue flowered rug?!

All the rugs I currently use are from Ruggable and they're awesome because you can wash them in your washing machine (and dry them in the dryer). I wash mine about every month and have washed them probably 10 times and they still look brand new.
