@@Frenchkisssss Moorish architecture is the articulated Islamic architecture of North Africa and parts of Spain and Portugal (Al Andalus), where the Andalusians (Moors) dominated between 711 and 1492. The best examples are La Mezquita in Córdoba and Alhambra in Granada (mainly 1338-1390), and the Giralda in Seville (1184). Other notable examples include the ruined palace of Medina Azahara (936-1010), the church (former mosque) of San Cristó de la Luz in Toledo, the Aljafería in Zaragoza and the baths of Ronda and Alhama in Granada for example. At the beginning of the 8th century, the Arabs formed the Caliphate in Spain, which in the 13th century was reduced to a tiny emirate of Granada and fell in 1492. The direct proximity to the Christian West, the ongoing confrontations between Moors and Christians, the physical characteristics of the Iberian Peninsula, the fertility of its soil, the climatic gains and the general conditions that allowed the Spanish Moors to live a very different life from that of their compatriots in other countries radically changed their character from severe and bellicose to gentle, cultural, chivalrous, and contributed to the high development of their but arts. In Moorish architecture, three periods must be distinguished: the first is the Great Mosque of Cordoba (now the Catholic Cathedral); the Giralda Tower and the Alcázar of Seville are examples of the second or transitional period, and the Granada palaces of the Alhambra and the Generalife give a graphic representation of the third period - the period of the highest perfection of the Moorish style.

Secondly, al Andalus empire and Morocco are older than the ottoman empire as well as Fès that was the first Capital of Morocco as country or state in north africa ( in 789), the ottomans invaded other North african countries in the 16th centuries, thirdly this kind of architecture doesn't exist anywhere in turkey or iran or Mongolia! 🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦

i see there’s general confusion in the comments so let me explain a couple of things : -this is moroccan architecture, not « islamic ». Islamic architecture is an umbrella term that refers to all different styles of architecture throughout the muslim world. The three main ones being persian, moroccan, and ottoman (in that specific order). these three regional architectures have very little to do with each other and were developed at different times in different places. The ottoman style will know its first fingerprints around the 13th century in turkey, moorish style will show up at least two centuries beforehand, and in morocco. -Although the ummeyad arabs will be the first to conquer spain at around the 6th century, moorish architecture will not really happen with them tho, it’s only when the then moroccan dynasties will move into spain that this architectural style will flourish in spain. Nowadays, when the spanish need to renovate moorish monuments, they call upon moroccan craftsmen. -People, please, persian and moroccan architectures are very different. it gives me the ick when people see colours in mosques and think it’s all the same 😵💫 everything from the layout plans, to the arches to the minarets to the craftsmanship is completely different in regions where persian architecture flourished. although u might see some very slight influence between the two architectures at around the 17th century.

For clarification only, there are many ignorant people, Arabs and hateful neighbors over everything that is Moroccan. First, the decoration is Moroccan, not Andalusian. Those who understand history will know that the rulers of Spain and Andalusia are Moroccans, or what were called the Moors. They ruled Andalusia for 5 centuries. They built mosques and palaces there by virtue of the fact that they were Muslims. Secondly, the Arabs who say that this art is Arab art make me laugh. Just give me one Arab country that has mosques, ornamentation and carving on wood, as we find in all mosques and palaces of Morocco will. Most Arab countries, when you build mosques or palaces and want this decoration, call for craftsmen from Morocco. Thirdly, if this art was Arab, why don't we find craftsmen who specialize in this art like we find them in abundance in Morocco? Only in one city, such as the city of Fez in Morocco, there are more than 30 thousand specialists in this art. As for other cities, the number of craftsmen in this field is unknown. Morocco is the only country that has institutes of professional training specialized in this mosaic ornamentation art. engraving on wood. The gypsum inscription. Fourthly, it was called Islamic art because Morocco, when its inhabitants embraced ancient Islam, added Qur'anic drawings to it, because the Qur'an is in the Arabic language. Fifth, I challenge any spiteful Arab country or from a neighboring country. It gives me a link explaining the number of craftsmen they have in this field and the training institutes in this field.

@@mbz9202 What are the Umayyads talking about? First, you ignorant of history, do not look after what you do not know. Firstly, Morocco, the Arab conquerors could not conquer Morocco by force because they lost many soldiers. Instead of war, they tried to dialogue with the indigenous people of Morocco. This is how the people of Morocco were Islamized with conviction, not war. And this date is mentioned by your Arab sheikhs, secondly, Morocco, whose indigenous people are the Moors, that is, the Amazighs. And they were the ones who conquered Andalusia, meaning Tariq Ibn Ziyad, and after him Youssef Ibn Tashfin, and they were both from Morocco. As for the history of Morocco, you do not know anything about it, because when it ruled Andalusia and North and West Africa, your country was undergoing colonialism under the West. Yes, there are palaces before the Islam of Morocco and they used to engrave on clay because at that time there was no plaster. And I have evidence for what I say. There is no such thing as an Andalusian building. Rather, it is Moroccan construction and art, because it was the Moroccans who conquered Andalusia and they built the same buildings that were Marrakech in the era of the Almoravids.

Je n'ai jamais vu une débile frustré comme toi : tu es la honte de l'Algérie. Je te conseille d'aller te faire soigner avant qu'il ne soit trop tard pour toi car ton cas est très grave.

Its only a raging koloughli 😁 Unhappy with the emptiness and the cutural poverty of its place, this thing is trying to spread falsity and none sense.

It's the theft of our Andalusian Spanish culture, it's Espgnol architecture exported to Morocco, it's not the work of Morocco. Only theft and no thanks The Hispano-Moorish art is a set of styles and artistic forms of the western Mediterranean basin resulting from the crossing of influences from the Iberian Peninsula and the Maghreb during the Al-Andalus civilizations. These styles flourished between the 7th and 15th centuries during the Middle Ages when religious thought dominated and were often associated with Islamic arts.
