Morphine doesn't help me much, even intravenously. If I take enough morphine for pain relief I end up puking. Vicodin is better, still have to use a lot but it doesn't seem to bother my stomach. I only had Dilaudid once but that was awesome (they did give me an anti nausea medication first so idk if I would have puked without that).

Oxycodone AKA Percocet. Oxycodone is made from morphine. It's 1.5 times stronger than oral morphine and hydrocodone is made from codeine

Kindly reply---- There’s and standard dosage of morphine ? Which mg we can consider over dosage of morphine?
@NursingSOS3 жыл бұрын
You'll need to look at the most recent years drug guide at your clinical site to find that out. It depends on the route it's given, if it's a pediatric patient or an adult, etc.

Where is the mechanism of action? You explained what it did but not how.
@NursingSOS2 жыл бұрын
Jessica Smith, Morphine binds to opioid receptors in the central nervous system, causing the central nervous system to become depressed. That depression leads to less sensation and neurotransmitters, transmitting pain to the body and a decreased perception of pain. I hope that helps!
