I had an in-line heater valve on an old Mazda 1200 I had about 30 years ago. I used a 1/2 inch brass globe valve and copper water pipe to hold it steady on the transmission tunnel. I could adjust the temperature from inside the car. It was a bit primitive in appearance, but it kept the car comfortable in the winter. In the other comments there are suggestions to use a tidier looking under dash valve. I think if you did some research, you could find a multi-speed fan control from a breakers yard. Just slow the new fan down once you get warm. I’ve been binge watching you all afternoon. Thanks for the videos. 😀🇨🇦👋

Great video, thanks very much. Very helpful with my own tinkering. One thing - dude, wear a mask when you're spray painting! It doesn't matter if its only 2 minutes, it's your lungs

Good to see you posting up again 👍 and a grand job done on the heater 😃 If you decide to redo the job using the quieter original motor the upgraded matrix will work fine - did this job on our traveller and results were good. Is it worth the effort given the good results you have?

Hi, keep the new heater motor but convert the switch to a variable one can't say which type of rheostat but a friend did his gave a quite motor at low speed fan. Also if you look at some of the kit car parts providers you can get an in line valve, which if you cut the heater pipe in the car you will be able to reach under the dash and adjust it. Just an idea. All the best and from experience, subject to finance, do the job right the first time around as you will find if it works you will never go back to do it again. And that motor case is going to be a pig to open with the sealant on.

Good ideas. Im going to fit a variable motor speed switch when i swap in a high flow header core. Thank you!

Any one watching this don't use those bypass hoses seen between the head and the water pump in this video they are a get you home or short term use thing use a silicone one also we used to retrofit a mk1 metro heater to mogges they are awesome little heaters

If the Morris sees that VW shirt it is likely to become very contrary and unco-operative!!! CHEERS from western Canada!

I wouldn't worry too much about that mystery wire. It was almost certainly part of some accessory fitted long ago, which has since been removed, but the person doing the removal was too lazy to remove all the wiring for it. Happens a lot on cars this age.

You can do the big heater matrix wire cheaply - I bought a 5/8 inch one and a metro outlet from mini sport fir a little over 49 pounds and I gotten an in-line brass valve under the dash as the new heater valves are rubbish and it works so well good luck land keep your chin up!

The sound is actually fine. We can hear and understand you, and that´s what counts. I don´t expect too many audiophiles in here ;)

i did hear somewhere its to do with the foam around the heater going brittle and leaks happen causing the flow to be reduced
