Great to see Dick immortalised on film. The most underrated sax player who deserves so much more recognition than he received. Some of the best gigs I've witnessed - and I've seen most of the greats. Jim's also a genius in my eyes.

I recently found clips of Dick and Jim. Dick being a lifelong friend to the family, in later years when we met up again, the little girl who once sat on his knee was now selling his tapes and LP's at the gigs with her Father Divs, (nickname) for some 4 years. Always down the Half moon putney, best nights of my life and have NEVER got anywhere near to anything else in the past. Now live in the States Too many happy and sad memories. Miss Jim and Dick especially. Thanks for posting.

Many happy memories grooving to Morissey/Mullen gigs in the 70’s and 80’s. I even got to interview the lovely Dick Morissey on his narrow boat for a jazz project I was researching a couple of years before he died. A musicians’ musician. RIP Dick.🙏👍☀️🇬🇧🙏

Brings stuff back to me too - I used to see Dick at the The Bull (Barnes) nearly every Sunday lunchtime while I was growing up - my dad was a jazzer . I'm nearly an oap now and he's still my starting point when I listen to a sax.

It seems that folks forget that Dick was a great jazz player too. And a very nice man.

I saw Jim about two months ago in a jazz pub in Swindon. He led a quartet backing his wife Zoe Francis. He was still an incredible guitarist accompanied by a wonderful pianist Dave Newton. A great evening, and all.free. Check out Baker Street, Swindon.

That album 'Life on The Wire' was excellent. Tony Beard's drumming on the studio version of Brazil Nut was amazing. Saw him play with MM, Critch, McKenzie, Kenyon and Chris Fletcher. That was the best version but there were lots of other great musos who did their apprenticeship with Jim and Dick. Neal Wilkinson was another great drummer.

I still find myself coming back to these videos of Jim & Dick. I have so many great memories of seeing this unique sounding band all around London. They did some oustanding live performances for the BBC around 1979-1980. I once had them on tape doing "'Rainbow Seeker,'' "'Another Star"' Marvin Gayes "'I Want You""(done superbly) Nobody sounds like Jim Mullen. There's a hint of Eric Gale in his playing although Jim is alot more slippery.

Just found this. I used to see them about every fortnight in the mid/late 70s at the Half Moon when I was a medical student at St. George's. I seem to remember one of the nurses took a fancy to the bass player.

When was that mate? I used to go there and also when he used to play at the Half Moon up the road in putney. Tuesday nights if I recall. It was late 70's / early 80's when I used to go.. Happy memories. Where you around at the time when he had Tessa Niles signing with them? That was awesome!

Bob, who were the 'powers that be' that ignored them? They toured widely, had albums out, even a single that did quite well. But they didn't have mass appeal, just stout supporters like you and me.
