An absolutely stellar song and always a show stopper - live.

I love it when I see someone get Morrissey. "I never said, I never said, that they were completely unfounded". Vauxhall and I is close to perfection all around, you should give it up and just do the whole album. Great stuff.

" In my own sick way" , only Morrissey. I had started to doubt him before Vauxhall And I, but this stunned me. Epic.

Yeah . I recently seen the very same interview. . #'Absolute Radio' pod Cast . Featuring Noel Gallagher. Released 1 Week ago. And apparently upon an American noticing Morrissey/Russell Brand and Noel in a Bar, and hearing their accent, went to Morrissey and basically Congratulated them on the Kate/William Wedding. And Obviously Morrisseys reaction was to basically Slam his hands down and give such a 'gutterly Growl' it shook the Table . There stands a Powerful Voice. Great Story. Viva Morrissey. And someone who has has Heard, 'Meat is Murder' . LIVE in 99. Morrissey is an extremely Powerful Singer. .and means every single word he states.

Love this song (maybe my favourite of the album, like the rest of them are. Haven’t made my mind up after over twenty years) and the entire album.

When the band broke up, they went to court and the proceeds were shared. Later the ex-members of the band gave interviews and notes saying that Morrissey had taken almost everything. At the same time it was said that he had shared that profit with Jonny and that the real reason why the band separated was because they had become emotionally involved and their relationship became toxic. Morrissey always responded with sarcasm and jokes to all these rumors. When I listen to this song I remember all this and I can't think of anything else.

I always found it distasteful that Johnny allowed Morrissey to take the blame for everything in court when he was equally responsible for the financial set up of the band. It was easier I guess to let it pan out that way. Morrissey didn't make it easy for himself in court, he was difficult to say the least.

Have you done "Jack the ripper"? The live version is great! (from the album "Beethoven was deaf").
@Tbevie503 жыл бұрын
I agree. The studio version’s nice but the live version, especially the one on ‘Beethoven was deaf’ is 100 times better.

It's hard to decide which version of Jack The Ripper is better. I think the studio version is, so atmospheric.

Would be great to see you react to Robert Smiths late work as he never stops making music. The cure have announced they are making one more album and it’s exciting. Robert smith in his 60s is still amazing. Check out his late work !!

This was after his support show for the English group Madness at Finsbury Park, where he was draped in the Union Jack flag.

Two years later and this song probably little if anything to do with that incident. The real story that should have been reported was that Morrissey endured homophobic abuse and missiles thrown at him during his set by actual fascists in the crowd. Instead the NME, and others since, decided to spin the narrative that Morrissey's a dreadful racist because he held the union jack (he also scrunched it up and threw it away). If that's enough to make him a racist then by that logic practically every British musician who's ever lived is too.
