Ronin debuted in the Shadow of Ronin video game, which is considered non-canon, where Ronin was the one who captured Zane and took him to Chen's Island, erased the Ninja's memories, and was planning to free Chen from the Cursed Realm. While the events of the game are non-canon, it's still canon that Ronin is the one who captured Zane and P.I.X.A.L. and sold them to Master Chen so the latter could lure the other four ninja into participating in the Tournament of Elements.

He doesn’t have his powers and that’s why he’s scared of it I think because he said something about no having his dragon anymore We know he didn’t have the fear before because he was going to swim across the ocean in season 2 just to get off the dark island before the dragon came

So two things one, if I’m not mistaken Morro never uses Spinjitzu, so does he actually know it? Two, Ronin’s first appearance was in the questionably canon video game Shadow of Ronin. Honestly, I’d recommend either playing it yourself or watching a play through because it’s a really fun game. Personally my favourite ninjago game.
