T-1000 is the only guest character I am interested in of the 3 we got although obviously gonna try all the characters. I was definitely against Ghostface being in this game because he is not a fighter. He spends half the movies getting his ass beat by damsels in distress before using the element of surprise to kill. The character works for Dead by Daylight but not in a fighting game in my opinion. Maybe they will surprise me though and the character is fun to play. I am sure he will be but not without steering away from the source material.

Haviks motive/presence is cool… his voice actor is not. He’s too edge lord, not enough lor of chaos. It’s like Lord raiden vs Champion raiden. @@MikeXeno365 Nobody did but obviously the writers and Ed Boon wanted to make the New Era of Mortal Kombat have familiarity but also radical differences with the previous timeline. Gender swapping is an easy distinction. Listen bro Sektor and Cyrax historically were not really that established either. I liked in MK9 you saw the difference where Sektor was hell bent on the cyber initiative and Cyrax was completely against it. That was the real extent of their characters and the first kind of any depth they had. People generally like Cyrax and Sektor because they looked cool and had cool moves. So gender swapping them in this timeline has little to no effect on me. I am just glad we are getting them. Its also interesting that they are using cyber armor and were not fully converted. Also a distinct difference.

Mortal Kombat used to be a fantasy. ONCE. But now you see the death of escapism. Even before Mortal Kombat 11's Wakanda Jax ending "I ain't waiting for people to get Woke not when I have the power to speed things up". There are tell tale signs of Nether Realm Studios are in bed with the likes of Sweet Baby Inc. Cast your mind back to Shujinko exploring the different realms. It felt fantasy other worldly. Now Edenia is just some random Asian dynasty. Tanya used to be otherworldly but is now a Wakandan DEI tickbox. With all the female characters being a slightly different version of: Strong Independent Woman that don't need a man. Similar to how the original Ninja was just a color swap of each other. Red was Ermac - Yellow was Scorpion - Blue Was Sub Zero - Green was reptile - Purple was Rain - Black was Noob Saibot - Brown was Tremor and so on. I bet without a quick google search those reading this comment will not even know who Ironheart is. She done so bad in the comics that I won't blame anybody. Yet Ironheart is female Sektor. You see this trend of girl versions of male characters is boring and does not work. In the Blade movie they want to make a female lead - Furiosa was the focus of the Furiousa movie not Mad Max - Masters of the Universe was all about Teela and Evil Lynn - Kenobi show was all about kid Leia and Reva - There is even recently the female Victor Freeze in Su1c1de Squad kills the Justice league (that nobody plays). On and on and on. Mortal Kombat 9's Skarlet was a close thing to an actual kunoichi or female ninja. Yet another one of Shang Tsung's masterpiece made from the blood of defeated warriors. In Mortal Kombat the franchise that created cause of the ESRB ratings. Fandom does not have Equity and never will. Equity is equality of outcome. But they had to "adapt it for modern audiences" which means casting aside your actual audience. Frost of Mortal Kombat 11 was a failed version of Cyber Sub Zero. Which was a failed addition to the cyber lin kuei. Yet this multi verse of terrible writing depicts the Cyber Lin Kuei as a mere power suit to be worn and not the cyberisation of people is a spit in the face of the story and legacy that came before it. Now you have Wakanda female Wakandan Cyrax. It just reduces Cyrax to the color of his skin. Cyrax was not "the black Ninja" he was Lin Kuei. Yet the very people that champion DEI and ESG are the very ones that reduces people to skin color and orientation. There is nothing fantasy about Mortal Kombat anymore. Just a Woke reimagination of it.

Man I'm not feeling this pack at all with the exception of Noob and Ghostface. Like I dunno the overuse of guest characters in these DLC packs are starting to drain on me a little and just feels like NRS are being forced by WB to put these guys in (T-1000 because of the new Netflix show and Conan because?....Arnold?)
