Feels great to see the new Reptile. He honors his first look and the second look. I am glad that Reptile is getting the respect that he deserves. Guy was the punching bag of Mortal Kombat. Here he's actually a good and sympathetic character. Was also great to see Ashrah and Havik. The latter was frequently mentioned on the second continuity, but he never played in the second timeline. I also loved Ashrah in Deception. Glad that she was expanded.

Reptile's always been one of my favorites and it's super cool that he's a good guy and being addressed by name now. It's also neat that they found a way to keep in both his forms. I've personally always preferred the more lizard-like look, but it's nice to see ninja reptile get more love. Plus they made him look like a full on lizard monster in his natural form which is super neat!

Tbf, Reptile has never really been an evil guy. He's been an antagonist sure, as his loyalties are always to Outworld... but never evil. His singular goal was following someone who could restore his lost race. Shang Tsung, then Shao Kahn, then Kitana, all false promises though. His story is actually quite sad, as the reason why his appearance kept devolving was a result of him going mad over time over being unable to restore his race., thus unable to maintain the levels of concentration needed to maintain a humanoid form.

And yeah, his story was already pretty sad. It's a crime it wasn't brought to the forefront and expanded upon as a main character's story would be in previous MK installments. It would've been really compelling, IMO. Well, if there was any doubt before, there isn't now. lol He's a good guy, and I have to say, it's really satisfying.

Him basically combining Scorp's clan into the Lin Kuei to resolve that neverending conflict across the multiverse, him aligning Reptile with good this time, and I'm pretty sure there's more in store for us. Reptile being a shape shifter is a perfect fit for him. Let's hope there's a actual story behind the character this time. Ashrah looks great imo. It looks like her story hasn't changed a lot from the one on the original timeline. The fact that they showcased their moveset against Raiden (since everyone thought she was Lady Raiden when she first came) is the most MK thing ever. The hat is there in case you wonder. (reptile disapperance part) probably she takes it off to fight. Havik looks sick! Sareena coming as a kameo doesn't rule out she can be playable down the line.

This game means so much to me. We were so poor (still broke today...) and in my 9's, my father walks in with a box and 3 cartdriges and tells us he loves us and apologise for not giving as much as other's parents. It was a Nintendo with "killer instinct", "top gear 3000" and "mortal Kombat" (for my granny desperation 🤣). Even electricity was limited and the generator for the little town was shut off at 9 PM. Seeing our anxiety for playing, dad went for his truck, syphon a few liters of diesel and got the house generator running for an hour. Whenever I play or watch Mortal Kombat, those great times come vivid in my mind ❤️

I couldn't be happier than I am right now. Human Reptile revealed on my birthday. He's been my favorite since I was a kid and played MK2, and his human form is the absolute best. The lizard transformation for special moves and such is amazing as well.
