Then after the year i say if you kill me you go free if you don't we repeat this for another year. i like to see you try to make up some bullshit to stay sane i nthe dire situation. Mentally ill, actually. If you stop to think about it Mileena is probably the most victimized character in all of Mortal Kombat. She's a clone, a synthetic lifeform, a slave, the child of abusive parents, constantly blamed and hated, even outright attacked on sight just because of a deformity, she's developmentally stunted into a type perpetual psudo-childhood, and has been constantly betrayed by everyone who ever claimed to care about her. She's literally dealing with half a dozen "tragic origin stories" simultaneously. It's too simplistic to say she just needs a hug, but god damn, its no wonder she's a bit fucked up in the head. Woman deserves a "face-turn" at some point in this story, even if its an alternate timeline.

Have Kitana (and the heroic characters) recognise Mileea as an individual rather than revile her, considering an abomination for circumstances beyond her control. Shao Khan's favour is typically tenuous, so if he mistreats or punishes her for whatever reason while said heroic individuals continue to treat her with respect, there is a chance she could doubt her loyalty. Of course, it hinges on this timeline's Kitana not being an up-herself bitch, so not holding out much hope.

For as twisted and agressive as Mileena can be, I do agree, I do hope for some future timeline story in which Kitana actually manages to somehow make peace with Mileena and accept her as her sister. She might even start teaching her to be better, to not kill people and eat them for fun, to learn more about compasion and how it can help you gain allies, etc.

This ending contradicts so much of what we've known about mileena. For one, it's established in the old timeline that she wants what Kitana has. This was why she pretended to be Kitana for a while. Even an Mk11 ending (I don't recall who's ending or maybe it's not an ending - I'm not sure) has Jade tell Mileena that she pushed Kitana away. NRS writers are just not consistent these days.

The fact that she had the most powerful artifact of all time but chose to rule alongside her parents, bring back her lover, and honestly chose pretty simple things, really says a lot about how she's not the kind of monster people make her out to be, only misguided and wanting acceptance. I think it says a lot that while Sindel, Shao Kahn, Shang Tsung, etc, all use the power of the hourglass to torture or kill their enemies...Mileena uses it to turn Raiden, Jade, and Liu Kang (and presumably the others) into her *friends.* And yeah, part of that may have been fueled by spite toward Kitana...but she could've easily killed them or turned them into slaves or something. But no, instead they genuinely like her. That's all she ever wanted. I'd love to see this AU turned into a story like with Kano, it's such a fascinating universe.
