It’s cool that Shao Kahn actually respects Raiden(to a certain degree), and thinks of him as an interesting rival. He believes Raiden should disregard things that make him weak or distract him. And in his perspective it’s things like compassion, or the elder gods, so he could get straight to the point and be his own independent.
