Mortal Kombat 2 (2024) Official Movie Updates

Mortal Kombat 2 movie is officially in active production at Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema. Although many expected to see the first official trailer for CCXP in Brazil, the studios decided to postpone the first look until later. Still, the actors and director have already shared a lot of details.

I love Sanada and every role he has done dont get me wrong... But I was really dissapointed that in Mortal Kombat the tournament did not even take place and almost all the fighting was done at the same arena that looked worse than the first video games. The 1995 film gave us what we wanted from MK. I hope MK 2 will blow us away. There is so much lore to MK ...hell sometimes I think I like the video game cutscenes more than the films.

Except one death they can’t easily retcon is the most unforgivable. Goro. His death was pointless and at the hands of a nobody made it worse. They can technically claim it wasn’t goro, but maybe he sent another Sho Con in his stead. I hope they do because Goro needs to die properly in the tournament crowning a new champion

@@coreymouton3900 Mate the cherography and camera cuts were awful. I will say the only redeeming quality was the fights between Scorpion and Sub-Zero. Cole/Goro fight and all those quick cut fights were awful. Now I am not saying the cinematography or the acting/feel of the games is missing I am just merely stating since its a franchise based literally off kung fu and fighting it could have been done way better.

The first mistake they must fix is the length of the movie. Ok MK1 was a kinda prequel but if u want to tell a brilliant story with so much cast with fascinating backstories then 2 and a half hours (AT LEAST) IS NEEDED!

Cole Young needs to become Scorpion, or some variant name as his descendant. He needs a helmet or some type of mask or flair or something, and he needs a rivalry. Unlike everyone and their mom, I don't mind him as a character or his gold armor with tonfas look. He needs to become something else though, especially with Cage being in this one.

Except for the first fight between Joe Taslim and Hiroyuki Sanada. It set such a great tone for the movie but the rest was kind of a let down. It was literally Joe as Sub-Zero carrying the movie.

I agree, although I like the idea of the fights not lasting super long, they were definitely to short. Especially Jax and Reiko it was like 30 seconds. They don't need to be drawn out but that's a little to fast to finish. He got his arms and Reiko was no match at all.

Mr. Lawson had me cracking up laughing with the occasional non-PG comment 🤣. I just don’t understand why the writers of this film decided to create the character of Cole Young. If MK didn’t have a sizeable list of fighters (which it obviously does) then I could understand it but that character (not the actor) is so generic and uninteresting that he’s literally taking screen time away from the two characters I grew up loving in the games - Sub Zero and Scorpion. It’s just baffling how unnecessary that character is and I wonder what the game creator’s opinion about him is? Just on that other point - I’d almost have preferred if they’d made a prequel movie about Sub Zero and Scorpion’s story alone because those two characters are awesome.
