Cole has served his purpose. He needs to be the first fatality in this film. Either have shao Kahn or Quan chi take out Cole, to immediately establish the dominance of the character that does the fatality. Cole was only there so the audience that may be unfamiliar with MK, could have someone in the movie that asks and learns the important facts alongside of but, everyone is up to speed now and it's time for Cole to accidentally forget his plot armor, and be used one last time, to inform the folks that are unfamiliar with shao Kahn and Quan Chi, to be introduced by allowing them to remove Cole from the tournament, similarly to the way Johnny Cage was unceremoniously taken out at the beginning of MK Annihilation.

I'm 40 and have been obsessed with Mortal Kombat since the 1st one was in the arcades. When the 1st movie came out in the 90s, I wasn't too disappointed, but I was hoping for a series of them that failed miserably. I actually stopped even paying attention to MK until the reboot (MK9) came out. Then the nostalgia kicked back in. This last Mortal Kombat movie sucked but not nearly as bad as "Mortal Kombat Annihilation". It had a great beginning and then went down the toilet. For a franchise as old and legendary as Mortal Kombat, this next movie better be good. It's such a cool story now and should have potential to be a block buster. I guess we will see.

The Mortal Kombat Franchise is only one stuff in case of an horror movie production. As we had the 90s there was no many Playmates but topics from Mortal Kombat as a sheet in our childroom or on the lunchbox, etc. Speaking about MK 2, Quan Chi reminds me a little bit on Kratos from the "God of War" game and something on Lobo, the interstellar Bountyhunter. Yeah i mean the enemie of Superman. So Lobo is an XXL overzize against Quan Chi as a slim size. My opinion 😊

The first had four good scenes, in my opinion, that had real movie essence. Scorpion Village Fight, Subzero dark street scene, Kung Lao's fatality, and Subzero and Scorpion's final battle. The rest of the movie felt like a different person directed it.

See, something that confuses me is that Johnny cage is supposed to be the primary protagonist while Shao Khan is supposed to be the primary antagonist which doesn't seem to make any sense. On top of all of those things, we also know from casting details that the casting department for Mortal Kombat 2 has actively sought out people to fill the roles of the Edenian characters which would imply that there is going to be a portion of the movie that revolves completely around Edenia. However, we also know that the producers have also promised that the titular tournament will also be featured in this film. If I had to guess what I would assume that the layout for this story will have the conquering of Edenia as an introductory prologue followed by the events that take place centuries later in the modern day. I guess what I'm getting at is, with everything the producers seem to be trying to tackle, I don't know where this whole movie is trying to go and what it's trying to do. It kinda seems like a film that sounds interesting, but overstuffed and all over the place

Shao Khan can be introduced in the scene where Edenia falls. Then fast forward, introduce Cage, then spend the next hour or hour and a half explaining Quan Chi and having a tournament. It doesn't sound bloated at all. It sounds perfect, to me.

As much as I love Karl Urban as Billy Butcher in The Boys, it might have been an error in judgement to cast him as Johnny. Scott Adkins might have been a better choice. ( Not the Miz ,that would haven't have worked either) There could have been other roles better suited for him. Won't stop me from seeing the movie though. I'll still be watching it. I am going against a lot of others and saying I liked part 1.
