4thsnake, you put way too much thought into these hypothetical stories. And that is why your ideas are so much cooler than anything NRS actually put out. Having even an iota of your ideas would actually improve the hazwaste of a storyline they have written themselves into. At this point, I dont think even Aftermath will redeem the story unless they go with a total reboot, yet again. And I hope not. I never had been a fan of Mortal Kombat, casual at best; but I have watched every video you have put out and I WISH I had been following the story from Klassic MK.

All I want is at least a rerelease of the Mortal Kombat Collection of the first three games. If for the sake of playing it for the first time myself. The earliest game I’ve played is MK9. And even then I never got past Quan Chi and Scorpion. Another reason I hate Quan Chi with everyone else.

Cesar Victoriano they should do this with the 3D era games as it allows newer players to play these stories and understand these characters and like them more meaning they are more likely to appear plus it allows older fans to relive the old games. It’s a win win for both sides.

Because Kratos being canon to Mortal Kombat doesn't make sense in the same way Freddy would, all the horror movie characters can be explained away as actors in films Johnny Cage stars in. You can't do the same for Kratos.

I always liked the version of Rain from MK Defenders of the Realm, where he was supposed to marry Kitana. It gave him more depth of character than just a guy who wants power above all else. That's been done and MK is full of those kinds of characters. If Shao Kahn discovered Rain's ancestry, he could have made a deal with him in order to keep him close. He could offer Kitana's hand in marriage, giving Rain some power but keeping him on a short leash so he doesn't make any move without Kahn knowing. When Kitana runs off with Liu Kang, that puts Rain at odds with the Earth fighters. He could have real feelings for Kitana but seeing that she wants Liu Kang, he decides to follow his ambition to reclaim Edenia.

Y'know shockingly, of all games, *Jump Force* has pretty decent DLC intergration, giving each of the dlc characters about 3 side-quests where they get introduced, interact with multiple characters, get recruited to the team if they're a good guy, and then you can find them hanging about the hub area. It's pretty seamless with the game's existing side-quests, and I'm stunned a game as bland as Jump Force managed to get something like that right.

Sommething that no one seems to realize is that MK doesnt care about the story. its ALL about the violence! That's all it has ever been, and there is no changing it. Want a game with some deep overarching story, go play Blazblue.

@@miket7869 I have no problem with violence it's just that the story is poorly written, characters are taken lightly, characters (like shao) r taken for idiots and their back stories changes to the point that it makes no sense playing nor is it consider to continue after Armageddon. It's messed up.

Great addition to the story whilst filling in the gaps that NRS didn't think about as well as reinforcing specific aspects of each off the respective characters. I don't get why NRS choose to ignore things like this when they could even retrospectively address them.

I was just thinking about this around the time Aftermath was announced, about the what IF story packs were done a lot earlier, Love that your mk 9 idea ties in together with the main story and explains the absences even including the guest in their seperate mini one, I'm curious to see what the other ones will be like but I can probably guess Jason's side story would just be going after the Kombat Kids in the Deadwoods like a summer camp.

They could do something interesting with her character as far as how she views herself as just a weapon for Kahn, then a weapon for her own gains, and really get into her psyche about what she truly wants in the world. Rain not in MK4-Deception= wasted potential. Could've been in MK4, but they chose to put lame ass Kai and Jarek. Could've been in Deadly Alliance but they chose Hsu Hao instead. Could've been in Deception but they chose Kobra, Darrius and Dairou. Could have been in MK11 but they chose D'Vorah & Cetrion instead. If we're really being honest, Cetrion's water moves should have gone to Rain. Nobody asked for that bitch.

Well Freddy's line in the story pretty much sucks, I mean he did have a part in the story(if I can recall what his story line in the trailer for MK), he's trying to get revenge on Shao Kahn, because he stolen the soul's of the people Freddy has killed and want to kill and he pulled Shao Kahn into the dream world so he can kill him, but Shao Kahn (like always) he had a few tricks up his sleeve's, he pulled Freddy into the real world making a immortal man with nightmare-like power's, and now Freddy's want's to settle the score with Shao Kahn
