I worked in an arcade when Mortal Kombat hit and it was insane. Once the secret was out for awhile we got a sign to put on top of the cabinet that said defeat the Reptile win 10,000,000 points. After MK 3 came out we transfered 1 to another store but I got to take the Reptile sign home. Still have it. Fun times.

Other than the movie, Liu Kang is unable to get to Reptile, given that when you are at “The Pit” stage you need double flawless victories and a fatality and perform NO BLOCKS and Liu Kang has to use the block button in his fatality move. Only some of the characters can fight Reptile.

That was because he was a hidden character at the time & in which the creators didn’t know how to differentiate himself from Scorpion & Sub-Zero until MK II. Same thing that happened with Jade being a Kitana clone, along with both Smoke & Noob Saibot being a scorpion clone, before making Jade & Noob Saibot different in UMK 3 & MKT. For Smoke, it wasn’t until MK 9 (2011) that the creators differentiated himself from Scorpion.

There's something I never knew. Why in the life bar says Scorpion? When, even in the messages of the game says Reptile. For example when you defeat him, "You have defeated Reptile" so, what was the big deal to put Reptile too in the health bar? Makes no sense. Despite that, best secret character in MK series.

Luis Yaelox Because he, Scorpion and Subzero are one the same. Reptile wasn't going to be a hidden character at all. He was last minute choice by Boon. They didn't have time to put his name in the health bar.😁

Double flawless on Pit, no blocking, perform a fatal and there needs to be a silhouette flying over the moon.
