So yeah... new stuff incoming :) Today we´ll kick it off with Mortal Kombat inspired design style, with a lot of interesting topics to talk about. This is just a short demonstration of the process to get the quick forms out. After those are done we can then spend additional time to polish/finetune the designs depending on the time available to us. In the next video we´ll discuss the importance of Support Loops where we slowly deconstruct the whole workflow. -mario

Are this new stuff going to be KZbin videos or a new course? Or an update to the previous courses?

please do more organic hard surface stuff, i think scifi helmets is the hardest types to model due to the blend of organic shape / head anatomy / and hard surface combined together.

23:12 How did you modify the `Use Default Material`? There's definitely some nice reflection like Phong or Blinn, not like a Lambert to me at all

Hey Mario, absolutely beautiful work. I was wondering, would you consider making an updated video with how you set up your viewport, colors, edges, lighting and shading settings? Your videos are such an amazing source for learning, and your workflow is a real art by itself.
@Elementza3 ай бұрын
Hey thanks! Its no problem but the older UI and hotkey video is still valid. I just copy the same references into a newer versions as they release

I would really love to know how to use your clean modelling technique to create trees, rocks, etc for environments IF IT MAKES SENSE of course ;) a nice subd model is easy to detail in zbrush...
@Elementza3 ай бұрын
Yes it makes sense no worries... but in that case you would actually just make it all in zbrush and use zremesher to get cleaner geo. You would not use this type of workflow in that situation. Hope this helps :)

Yes it does, thank you@@Elementza

Brother as a Maya user am I missing out by not jumping on Blender bandwagon for modeling?
@Elementza3 ай бұрын
I mean the art or the results matter more that software of your choice. Which one brings you there faster or in workflow that makes sense to you is all that counts.
@user-cl5mj3rl3e3 ай бұрын
Don't he need to fix triangles and topology after cuts on masks? What if there be needed to do chamfer or bevel?
@Elementza3 ай бұрын
You could, but its not necessary in this case since geo is dense enough. We'll cover this more in detail in following videos. For now you can find more on the workflow here kzbin.info/www/bejne/lX3ZZoNniZmJf5Ysi=h_YopEjsg-vVnDXu

Hey mario I just noticed how is the material visible in the viewport. (When i apply the stamdard surface and increase the metalness up to 1 it becomes completely black, but yours is working just fine). Is there any setting i need to change or is this just a bug in maya ?
@Elementza3 ай бұрын
Probably you´ll need to increase the spec roughness value if its set to 0
@SaM-tl5nz3 ай бұрын
@@Elementza Thanks for replying Just found the solution you are using Maya's standard surface which is compatible with the maya viewport whereas I was using the Arnold's ai standard surface the metalness of the Arnold ai standard only updates in the render view because of the lights. The Arnold's metalness can only be seen by creating a skydome or any other light and then pressing number 7 on the keyboard 😄
