Hey, so for me, editing the pivot results in a custom pivot which I can't use for the mirror operation like Mario does at 23:30. Is there something I'm missing ?
@n9alex2696 күн бұрын
It's always like that, you struggle then finally ask and 2sec later find the solution. I needed to enable Bake rotation in the Tool options.

Thanks so much! I just began learning about topology this year and this video was really helpful with understanding how to keep my topology clean as my objects become more complex. :)

Thank you for your videos, can I use 3ds max instead of maya ?
@Elementza21 күн бұрын
I would say depends on how well understanding of 3dsmax basic modeling tools is. If that part is strong then for sure

14:30 how is that insect and than boolean possible in blender?? :(( thats sooooo convenient,
@AephVeyniker20 күн бұрын
It's inset and extrude through all the video. But if you want to know, then Maya has smart extrude that can go through the whole object and make a hole and blender doesn't have such a tool, there is only a limited in scope add-on called punchit.

Hello Mario! As always, your design captivates the imagination and is very inspiring! I have been studying your courses on Maya topology, and they have had a profound impact on my architectural practice. I have developed several architectural and futuristic concepts in Maya that I would like to share with you in the future. May I send you a link to cloud storage through your website so that you can evaluate my work and provide your expert opinion? I would also be interested in receiving a brief consultation on 3D models. Additionally, there is always wonderful background music in your videos. Could you share the name of the track that plays from the 2nd to the 5th minute of this video?
@Elementza25 күн бұрын
Hey thanks... if you're on our discord feel free to share there, sure. As for music its all from Uppbeat :) Cheers

Awesome, when I see you working like magic in Maya. I want to ask you, when you were making Maya+Sub, did you already have the end result of this model in your mind?(love form china❤)
@Elementza26 күн бұрын
Mostly yes but in this case not... just going through the flow since it was mainly about presenting the differences between 2 workflows

Thank you very much for your videos. I learned almost everything I know about topology from them. A question, when you work do you use some references for the design? or do you directly elaborate it on the modeling process?
@Elementza27 күн бұрын
Yes mainly automotive design as inspiration and general reference for form or detail. I will leave my pinterest board link in case anyone is interested www.pinterest.de/elementza/automotive-design/

A new subdivide paradigm is needed, something new, nor nurbs, or vdb, we are stuck in the 90's, we are just brute-forcing everything with digital sculpting, or higher subdiv levels, two industries pushing in different directions, production and games lol, Production: lets do it "correctly!", wait at which distance is this object going to be from the cam? lol.... Games: Lets go nuts!, cad? YES, polys? YES lotssss its for baking who cares...., Unreal: Hold my beer!, NANITE LOOOL. Something new has to happen.....this is not sustainable. CAD: Alias, SolidWorks, Creo: CAD/Subdiv Hybrids..............Looool, what are we doing.....The era of Edwin Catmull and Jim Clark have to END and something new have to come.

I'm really happy when you have this seri about hard surfaces in Zbrush. Honestly Zbrush's UI is quite complex although I have gone through 3D software like Maya and Substance Painter. I need a tutor like you who can instruct clearly and easily understand. Thank you so much <3
