I hate Kotal Kahn because he’s a hypocrite and acts entitled, but in the next game we’re supposed to act like he’s the hero. He had to convince people to conspire with him against Mileena so that he could get her throne. I’m very aware that Shao Kahn became ruler by killing Onaga, but I’m pretty sure he did it alone. Kotal and his cronies ganged up on Mileena. The only thing I appreciate about him is his design, the Aztec/Mayan vibe is everything. Edit: And he gets his ass handed to him by Kung Jin.

MKX is the best Mortal Kombat game of all time in my opinion. It has the best gameplay, designs, intros, and story moments. (The scene where Scorpion and Sub Zero reconcile/forgive each other is my favorite MK cutscene)

7:09 Okay, the kombat kids to me feel like what Tekken did with Jin Kazama and the rest of new generation. Difference being Tekken did that in game three and by that point the series was nowhere near as big. MK does this ten games in. It's not impossible, but you're gonna have a huge uphill battle to pull it off. They did the same in Soul Calibur five and no one liked their favorites being replaced with kids, so the next (and last) game was a "back in time" deal. 7:31 Erron Black is what I didn't like. The dude gave me nothing to work with other than "I'm a cowboy". And by the Elder Gods did D'Vorah get some massive plot armor in this and next game. This is what weak writers do when they don't know how to sell a new character - have them beat old established veterans for no real reason.

Not only did MKX have one of the best story modes in MK history, it also had some of the funniest intro dialogues in the series. Also, Cassie is SO MUCH better in this game than in MK 11. It's not even close.

Team Kitana or Mileena? That’s rough because Kitana’s development through MK9 to 11 was awesome. She really got be the all-star she always could have been in MK11. But I am really looking forward to what the New Era Mileena is going to do. She is awesome. Team Kitana though just because I played her in these three games, MK9, MKX, and MK11. Also Revenant Kitana and Dark Empress Kitana are some of my favorite skins.

MKX : Gameplay is 10/10 Balls on the Floor fast-paced action Roster: Sucks! If they want to include Cassie, remove Johnny and Sonya, let Cassie shine more in the story. Jacquie is worthless, the worst character in the roster. In total, 3 character slots are available if the problems above are solved. Baraka, Rain and Sareena could fill the roster. Balancing the factions(too many special forces) Story : They did Erron dirty, Too many jobbers, rushed story.

To be honest, I think this is the best story, at least of NRS era. For multiple reasons. Firstly, characters dont disappear. This is a big problem with NRS games. After their chapter, many characters, unless they are the main ones, just disappear or become actionless figures. Think of Mortal Kombat 9, there Johnny, Sonya, Jax, Kitana, Jade, Smoke, Stryker and Kabal never do anything useful after their respective chapters, they dont even talk too much. Same in all recent Mortal Kombats, except for MKX. Maybe its the fact that there are a lot less solo-ish characters and they mostly group up into teams. But still, all the main characters - Sub Zero, Scorpion, Special Forces group (Kenshi, Sonya, Johnny), Kombat kids, the Outworld people, Revenants, even Mileena’s rebellion - all play a major role in the whole story and only disappear when narratively necessary. The only ones you could argue with are Jax (though it makes sense, he is retired and agreed to help in one particular mission. He didnt sign up for fighting with Shinnok, therefore he is missing) and Raiden. But the way all the major characters have plot relevance at all times is really great. Secondly, the plot is structured a lot better thanks to the Kombat kids. Though the game is divided by chapters, and it has always created troubles for narrating a single story of a particular characters (hello, Liu Kang of MK 9), in MKX the Kombat kids as a group and all its members individually are the main characters. Their presence is cleverly spread across the whole game. I also really like their arc. In the beginning its barely a fighting force, Sub Zero can solely defeat them all. But after each of them undergoes a character arc, only then is it possible for them to form an effective team and defeat Shinnok. Kun Jing learns why partnership in combat is better than being a solo warrior, Takeda overcomes the demons of his past, Cassie learns what it means to be a commander and Jackie… well… finds love, I guess? Idk, I just really liked how for the first time there are actual protagonists that grow and develop as the story goes.

Mortal Kombat versus matches in Story Mode feels like Rock Paper Scissors. For example: Deadly Alliance beats Shao Kahn, Kung Lao beats Deadly Alliance, & Shao Kahn beats Kung Lao; but to make it even more confusing: Liu Kang beats Shao Kahn, Deadly Alliance beats Liu Kang, Onaga beats Deadly Alliance, yet somehow Shao Kahn somehow beats Onaga.

I think its biggest problem is the story and the characters you can't play as The comics had more story but why is important story stuff not in the games and the story is so short If we didn't have Kotal Mileena would be Empress with a kind of peace with it just being a let's stay out of each others way Instead of making it a 20 year time skip make it maybe 5 years with the Kombat kids not being children of the main casts they're just part of things like Special Forces, Shira Ryu and Shaolin Monks but I would prefer Frost being a member so 1 of each faction As people like Quan Chi and his revenants do their plan Outworld and Earthrealm but both sides talking is just awkward because they hate each other Johnny Cage should get the big win as his green powers get explained instead of the one line about it I think all the npc fighters is a bad idea but mkx did it the worst Baraka, Rain and others and then some was sold as dlc even MK11 did it like Sektor and Cyrax is in the game the trailer showed oh nevermind i haven't played mk1 yet but Ermac is one its just not good to do like here is this chatacter you can fight with a full move set but you can't play them unless you pay more for a character we already put in the game

Though however, Mileena's can be cheap too, spamming their teleport kicks, ball rolls, and sai throws. As for story, Kitana is the love interest for the main character, the princess of Edenia/Outworld before the 5th reboot took place, and I enjoyed her love story with Liu Kang. With Mileena, every game her purpose was just to feud with and be jealous of Kitana, until MKX where they do something interesting and have her try to avenge Shao Kahn by taking down Kotal Kahn. No idea why it took her 20 years until dying, even after checking out the comics. Now her toxic fanbase has got her more front and center, and while I appreciate her change in MK1 for something fresh (minus the Tanya love angle, more bland than bread) that's still not enough to put her over Kitana for me. I could see her being appealing to females I guess, but I just don't really get it. I liked her more when she was just Kitana's mortal enemy. She already had a sister figure, being Jade.
