📣 QUESTION: What has worked best for your Morton's Neuroma?👣👣 A) Cortisone injection B) New shoes C) Stretching D) Shockwave Other:_________
@jeanunderhill3868 Жыл бұрын
I’m currently having shockwave. Ultra sound detected one neuroma between 2nd & 3rd - 13mm long. Specialist requested an MRI which found a second neuroma between 3rd & 4th 12mm long in the same foot. Interestingly, the one between 2nd & 3rd had much less inflammation than the other as I had already done 5 sessions of shockwave on it. I’m currently having shockwave on the other one now between 3rd & 4th. I’m trying to avoid surgery.

In the UK maybe it'd different never been offered shockwave , I live in pain with this I'm begging them for surgery as I kind of want to not be in pain now, think I got mine after tearing a patella in my other leg, I figured I then put too much pressure on the now bad foot, gutted , used to love running marathons

For the last 8yrs I have had problems with this and have been to two foot doctors. The problem seemed to get better for awhile after shots but has reoccured.I wear generic soles inside my shoes which support the neuroma and I have figured out a double cushion sole on top of that helps to keep the problem minimal. Last year I went to the good feet store and they gave me their custom orthotic insert and that helps too. But I only wear that in my work shoes at work. To compound my feet problems is that I'm on my feet a lot at my job and I walk 3 miles most days for my exercise. I'm 65 and all this is getting to be much.

Had Morten's Neuroma. Very Painful. Could hardly walk. They used a laser that made a loud pop like a gun. The doctor was wearing a welder's shield. RESULTS: 100% resolution and that was over 25 years ago, and it has never come back. What kind of laser was this? Thanks.

I’m having an ultrasound tomorrow on my foot. I first felt it in February this year. My doctor believes it’s a neuroma and is going to decide what to do once it’s confirmed. I tried spacers but they were agony. I’ve been wearing shoes with a soft cushioned layer under the affected area and it helps me reduce the discomfort when walking. I’ve had nerve pain in my toes especially at night and it’s been really bad at times. I had an x ray a month ago and have been waiting for the scan. I’ve never worn high heels and am not a sporty person so I’m just unlucky. I tend to wear comfy shoes anyway. I did trip up though last year and it’s possible that may have triggered it. I’m hoping to get some relief soon. As I write this my toes and the front of my foot is tingling and painful.

@@leevize6045 Almost a year down the line. After two podiatry visits and an insole in my show it’s no better. Waiting to go back to podiatrist it’s over three months since my last visit. Can you tell me why sandals make it more likely to develop please. When mine started it had been winter and I’d wore trainers and boots. My toes were so painful and inflamed I only felt comfortable when they were not enclosed.

@ I was misdiagnosed. Two years next month of pain. Long waits for scans and podiatrist appts. So I have finally been to see an orthopaedic specialist who sent me for yet more x rays and scans and an MRI scan in September. I have an appt Dec 2nd to discuss results. But it seems I have an irregular spiculated lesion and it may be malignant. Or not. I’ve continued having pain and I limp quite badly. I’ve had two years of stress and my life being limited. So I’m hoping it’s not malignant and that I finally get some relief. I’m expecting I’ll need an operation. There is calcification in my toes now as well as the lesion. So not great altogether.

@@annieyee yes. I no longer have those awful nerve/electric shock type pain. I’m having my final shockwave session tomorrow - 12th one. I do still get throbbing but it’s so much better. I have now also started reflexology as well now that my foot is not so sensitive to touch. I may consider a cortisone injection as well. Anything to allow me to walk distances again.

The intense burning like acid on the ball of my foot and burning numbness between my 2nd and 3rd toe only happens when I reach the 6km mark when running a 10km race which impacts my race finish time. It only happens when I run. I want to do further distances in the future but at this point not possible. What should I do? Will pads help as you have shown in your video? I have bought new shoes, and proper running socks and even put vaseline under my foot before putting on my socks before a race.

I have a left foot neuroma between the 3rd and 4th toes… Injection did nothing although the doctor did not use ultrasound like you showed and he went into the top of the foot. Absolutely no relief. I’ve tried spacers, numerous wide shoes, metatarsal pads, orthotic inserts, heat/cold therapy… nothing works. Been 18 months of just trying to manage the pain but is impacting my life in a big way. I was going to do surgery so had an MRI done. The neuroma did not show up, and of course X-rays didn’t show anything either. My pain feels like someone is twisting the ligaments and tendons and muscles in the foot and the pain is throughout the entire front of the foot. Removing my shoe (Extra Wide shoes) stretching my toes front and back and massaging the front of the pads relieves the pain as well as calf stretches. Then I’m good for a while but it will return, sometimes the pain begins just sitting with shoes on, other times when I’m walking especially on uneven surfaces or walking downhill. I’m not certain this is a neuroma but of course I don’t know. I’m trying acupuncture now before I have surgery. If you might have some thoughts on how I might approach this going forward, if acupuncture doesn’t work, I’d appreciate it.

Why do the companies even make narrow toe box shoes at all? Seems like a bad idea no matter which way you look at it. I got the metatarsal pads but if I placed them any further ahead than where they just kind of fit neatly under the ball of the foot it was uncomfortable to walk on them.
