We love our RV Lock. It was our first purchase for the RV and it has come in handy so many times.

is... is no one going to mention the giant spider on his right shoulder at 0:12 that obviously starts crawling at 0:31 and is suddenly gone at 0:39 ? Where did it go... WHERE DID THE SPIDER GO??

Great Video! I was looking at buying this for my RV and came across your video and started following you! YES, I had to go back and look at the spider! Thanks for the good content!

Our 2015 Lifestyle 5th wheel came with one of these from the factory....love it! Didn't know they had models for baggage/basement doors. Will look into those. Thanks!

For a keyless lock it has two keyed locks that are easy to jiggle or pick open.

I've had mine for a bit now about 3 months and I really like it. I do hate the 90s video game sound it makes which is loud but it is what it is. I did lock mine from a pretty good distance sticking my head out the window as we were leaving and the door was on the opposite side I was facing and about 40 yards away and I could hear it lock so it was nice at that moment it made that stupid sound. lol. I keep my RV at my house plugged in and ready to go so I go in and out of it a lot and it sure is nice not to have to hunt down the keys, ever, to lock or unlock it. I just plug in the code and or hit the lock button and wala! Totally worth the money so far.

We're happy you're enjoying your lock! RVLock products come with a "Silent Mode" feature to disable the sound. If you wish to mute it, simply hold down the "1" button for about 5 seconds until you hear a series of small beeps. Repeat the process to reengage the sound. Happy RVing!
@weekendtrailblazers5 жыл бұрын
jstar1000 you can mute the tones by pushing and holding #1. When it beeps it is muted. Push it again to bring the tones back if you wish.

One of the first things I installed. I used barrel locks for the compartment instead of the ones from RV Lock. You should mention that you want to keep at least one of the keys always outside of the RV in case the battery dies...

Where do you suggest hiding an extra key?

I like your presentation of the RV Lock. I have the same lock that I won in a give away that the Freedom Theory did. I'm assuming they are the ones you saw it on. You were spot on about the handle inside. I think that's the weakest link. We love it though. With kids it makes it easy and you don't need so many sets of keys.

I like it but i have a concern though what happens when the batteries go dead? How do you unlock the door?
@MortonsontheMove2 жыл бұрын
Good question! You can use the manual key if the batteries die.

Thanks for the info. A key fob is definitely convenient.

Looks good. I have thought of using a rfid key entry in my shop
@wanderingsauveys13497 жыл бұрын
Not so sure I would call it security, but more convenience. As we sadly found out, a perp just breaks the window, reaches in and unlocks from the inside. The main reason I dislike the window in our entry door. Good review and if I had the extra $$, I'd consider one (or two) myself.

You learn something every day. We have the keyless lock on our Lance 850. I never knew I could just push and hold the lock button and it locks. I have been entering the code to lock it every time. Did you know if you push and hold number 1 it will mute the loud tones? Push it it again and it will bring the tones back.

Why does the key fob has 2 buttons with lock and unlock?
@julieh33277 жыл бұрын
Does it give you a warning when the batteries are low? If the batteries are low, does it automatically lock or unlock?

Can you sync any key fob with it? Or is it their key fob only? I’m building a flatbed truck camper and would love to have all my locks work on my truck’s key fob. I’m also thinking an electrical lock I can relay off my truck’s electric door locks.
@MortonsontheMove6 жыл бұрын
That would be nice but I think its only their fob. We find we dont use the fob as pressing and holding the lock button is so easy.

Hum , I just installed one, easy enough! I do like the convince for me to unlock and lock door,Its really not going to keep anybody that wants in we all know that. But my concern is the back part to close door,. My door has a strut on it to prevent singing open widely and to keep it from going all the back or open. so when I am inside I really have to pull my hard to shut always have to to resistance on strut, the part that you pull to close the door really bends a lot! now i am thing I need to put some type of pull on inside to close from inside, which means there will be 2 washer probaly nylon lock washer on my front door, don't know if I want that! Thinking also of drilling one hole and using spreading nut to hold a nylon loop pull strap, but not much mental there for support! any ideas > They really need to firm up inside part of handle. I don't think it will last in mine , we will see!

One issue I have is that the fob only locks and unlocks the deadbolt. It does not lock the latch, as is the current design. whats the point of having a fob if you have to turn the key to unlock the main latch?
@jstar10006 жыл бұрын
You don't have to lock both locks it's just an option, one, the other or both. The deadbolt is the most secure so be happy.
@jstar10006 жыл бұрын
Also the top lock (not the deadbolt) is generic, I took mine to an RV place to have it worked on and they told me to just lock the top lock and not the deadbolt as they have a master key that will unlock the top lock but not the deadbolt. I told them I changed out the whole thing with the one were discussing and they went over and their master key worked on the top lock. Point is the deadbolt is your best bet and that's what the remote works.

Our RV lock freaked out and locked my wife out and the dogs inside. Guess it's time to drill it out. Do not recommend....
@MortonsontheMove2 жыл бұрын
We're sorry to hear that happened. :(
@ViperGrendal2 жыл бұрын
@@MortonsontheMove To be fair RVlock did help in getting the lock fixed. It's just a design flaw that the lock would behave in this fashion. By dumb luck the lock freaked out again and unlocked itself after a couple hours. I think their guess is water penetrated the keypad, which would be my assessment as well. I'm going to brainstorm on the issue and see if I can improve it somehow when I put the new parts in. My recommendation for anyone owning one of these is to have an emergency key stored outside the RV.
