Jab 1-Jab 2- Side special(Grounded) Is my favorite combo, they have to bounce for the dirt spike to be true but most don’t dodge out if you mess up the timing anyway. A morty tech I discovered is absolutley amazing, drop a nade uncharged, then split it and immidietly jab the grenade that comes towards you, this creates a gaint explosion in from of you that kills, does 20% and is amazing for edgeguarding. Tip: Never use the nair/Neutral smash (snake gunshot) for zoning unless your desperate because sair1- snake shot is a kill confirm and leads to combo resets. ALWAYS keep the snake shot for combos it’s amazing and try to keep weakness on your opponent at all time

Some tips/combos with morty to help, if your opponent is low enough percent/ close enough to you your jab will cause bounces which make combos true. Jab1-jab2-side special (grounded) This is his best combo and getting the timing is important to make it true. Fair1-nair-fair1-dair Fair1-dair-up air Fair1-jab1-nair-jab1-jab2-side special (grounded) Keep distance with fair and dair similar to Jake and as soon as you land a fair try for more damage, jab is huge and disjointed but hammer morty kinda sucks, it will always connect though if the opponent is right on top of you as you do it. My favorite tech: Drop an uncharged nade, then split it with side special(grounded), then immidietly jab1 the grenade that comes towards you to create a gaint explosion that does 20% and kills in frot of you. You can always not jab the nade and just let it split if an opponent is trying to land on you while your doing it but always remember that Side special can be dodge canceled and jump canceled. Never use nair/neutral smash (snake shot) to zone unless necessary it kill confirms off of fair1 and jab1, its a vital part of his combo game and can be used to get people off stage for an easy down air spike. It has virtually no end lag and a decently quick cooldown, with coffezilla its even better. I use, coffezilla(must), ignite(must) and ice to slow pursures like batman and bugs, but in some match ups like iron gaint triple jump is better Morty is super fun but requires a lot of work to do well,he can play rush down aswell as zone so alternate play styles accordingly. His hammer and grenades are getting buffed according to Tony so get ready for those.
