when I did this in the 80s and 90s, it was both. it really depends on the unit you're assigned to.

@@loganmurray4003 same here, 22 weeks. Maybe something got added to the curriculum recently. It used to be 19 evidently, given the info online and in the Army careers app.

@@SuperFriday haha not that bad for Aviation. Most are 15-25 weeks, especially electronics and armament stuff. But I guess for overall AIT lengths outside of technical or mechanical fields, it's pretty long. Patriot System Repairer is 53 weeks and I think a nurse is 40 something, so I'm glad this one (which is my MOS as of this morning) is half that.
