Hi Cap, hope you're still taking requests for reenactments and silly stuff go do from films, can you do some super accurate science and see if the chopper fight from 'The A Team' (2010 film) is possible? Many thanks and looking forward to more vids, keep it up chaps! Link to scene: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4q6hWecdrmVgsU

@@grimreapers Please let me kno what you think about my request..?? F-4U Corsair VS MIG-15 Historical Reenactment👍 During the Korean War U.S. Prop Planes shot down MIG's on a couple occasions-- The Hawker Sea Fury shot down a MIG-15 and The AU4 Corsair also shot down a MIG-15! Vietnam-- A-1 Skyraider shoots down MIG-17 on two separate occasions!! You could even add a small Documentary about some of the information I mentioned before the fight😁✌

My dad used the T1154/55 set on RAF marine craft during the late 60s. Loved using it and knew it inside and out. Sadly he passed away last year but would have loved to been able to educate me on how it worked.

So cool. Mission ideas that come to mind is locating a beacon with a halftrack transmitting and when you approach it he tells you where enemy forces are relative to him

This is the stuff I love doing in the huey, but on a whole new level. Also with two beacons some simple triangulation on the map can give your location and range.

Hi Cap, Congratulations on the video, it is lots of important information put out in a concise manner. Some observations: 1) It is really nice to see you geeking out on this. Mega kudos to ED for this modelling, it is every radio nerd dream come true in a simulation; 2) So RC is a SmokeJumper, a Firefighting pilot and a Radio Show Host? Is there anything this beautiful human can't do? The mistery of RC only grows... 3) The two needles on the Direction Finder Indicator should be always crossed. They are called the "Two Drunken Men", because they always lean on each other. Once you balance them out, you change the amplitude so they rest on the reference lines below the L and the R. From there you fly towards the signal station. If they are crossed and balanced on the lines, they can give you a rough estimate of distance to the station, because as you get near the station the needles will be higher and higher on the indicator. This video is a golden mine of information on their use: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoDcd52tir-alcU&lc=z22chlm55wmqtpwr004t1aokge5350uxeyxpwqb4pplrbk0h00410

Great stuff. Never seen WWII nav in such detail, the closest ever was the very simplified AFN-2 homing in Il-2 when flying Heinkels and later the YG and YE-ZB carrier homing systems added to 46 by Daidalos. This now is a whole new level to it and makes things much more interesting! But one thing has to be said, again. The cursor is extremely hard to see, especially at just 1200p (since your footage is 1440p) which makes it everything else than easy to follow your explanations. The same goes for many videos that Wags puts out BTW. The real shame is that the cursor size was twice as much back in 1.5 and earlier. If only we could change it, or at least have the old size back... would be awesome if you guys maybe could forward a request for this to the team :)

I've been sitting on a morse code kneeboard I've made a looong time ago, and since I couldn't find any uploaded on dcs site I decided to share mine there. As I write this i've just uploaded it and I'm still waiting for it to go active, but once it does I'll link it here for everyone to get :)

Not sure who hit the like; I assume you have the same issue.....and the fix is the two power switches. One is high power and one is low power. You just need the low power swich for the radio and DF....I suspect the high power switch is for something yet to be modelled. Maybe the aeriel switch which has a HF on trailing option??? What is cool is that ED have seemingly modelled a blown valve!!! :-)
