Love the pattern it a good set up i just order a use mossberg 500 turkey almost same as your set up the previous owner had it exactly like yours so I'm excited to get it next week barely pay for it on GUNbroker last night and today my FFL barely sent his info the to Other FFL excited !!!! Waiting for it to shipped today or tomorrow

Have you had any issues with that red dot fogging up while hunting on cold mornings or having issues looking through it in wet conditions? I'm looking at buying a mossberg 835 with a red dot on it, but wondering how the red dots do during less than ideal hunting conditions.

I haven’t had any issues at all. I know this sounds crazy but I let my gun acclimate to the outside temperature. I’ve always done that with scoped weapons. Glass won’t fog if it’s close to the outside temperature and humidity. I use to think I wouldn’t like a red dot until I missed a bird at close range. It makes you keep your head on the barrel and if the red dot is on it you good.

I know you’re using the venom but what do you recommend 3moa or 6moa? Thanks

I recommend the 3 moa. Small, bright and covers less of the birds head.

Got a box of tss opened up a shell weighed everything and load my own..But ur right them things are expensive

How did you mount the red dot?

Mounted directly to the top of the gun with the vortex hardware for Mossberg. You can also get the picatinny rail. I just chose to mount directly for low profile.

I would leave your gun set just the way it is. You cant ask for better than that imo. I'd take those patterns all day long good hunting.

I agree. I was shocked at how well it patterned With that short barrel.

I don't mean to hijack your thread period I just inherited an old mossberg 500 a pump 12 gauge with the 28 inch vent rib barrel period would you recommend this choke and it? If so, do you have item number. I'm looking up that joke. And it lists the mossberg 835, et cetera. I'm hearing that's not the same thread pattern. Love your set up!

I just can’t do that baby rattle, flimsy forearm on those Mossberg shotguns.

Not all are like that. My older Mossberg fits the hand very well and beefy. Just pretty dang heavy. This one seems flimsy but fits well. Especially for times when you need a smaller profile.
