Based in part on your recommendation, I purchased a MC1sc for $256 back in 2019. Based on the excellence of that gun, I bought a MC2c the following and found it to be even better! I just found out about the MC1sc yesterday, so thanks for the early review. I suspect I'm going wish I'd waited buying my Ruger Max-9. The Mossberg pistols are criminally underappreciated and when people do bother to review them, they just whine about how weird the disassembly is! You, at least, pointed out how easy it is to clean the striker channel. The MC2c is easily my favorite carry pistol and I can't wait to get my hands on the MC2sc! Thanks!

They're excellent guns. The price is really fair too. I'm amazed at how Glock-like they are though. I don't dislike Glocks at all and can see why they're popular... but I'm just surprised that so many companies want to copy them so perfectly. You can take a Glock apart the same way if your take-down lever isn't working or your trigger won't disengage and they even selll back plates with the same kind of button release (Strike Industries). In any case though, (for some people) it's like that made a better Glock than Glock for half the price.

@@deucedeuce1572 Just Like Palmetto did with their Dagger G19ish gun. Its amazing that US companies can do all kinds of improvements that Glock still wont do, and they can sell their guns for half the price of Glock! It kinda shows me that Glocks have always been very overpriced, in my mind, and still are. (just my opinion) I guess that is why I have never bought one and own other brands. My PSA Dagger performs just fine, and has an optics cut, for a Holosun, beveled and scalloped slide, threaded barrel, suppressor height sights, steel guide rod, and more for $350.00 in a very nice range bag, etc. This US made Mossberg MC2sc is another one to make me put Glock back, because of its pricing and lack of features.
@deucedeuce1572 Жыл бұрын
@@PatriotPaulUSA Yeah, and I'm willing to bet that a PSA dagger costs just as much to produce as a Glock. I can't say for certain, but that would be an interesting thing to know. (Costs about $40 to produce a Glock, if you include every single cost of the entire company vs each gun produced).

For a weaker hand or for a woman, I would not recommend . I've had good strength in my hands/ arms in my life. If your side to side movement moves the barrel, which it would you would be hindering the accuracy of your gun. Compare that to a gun like the CZ75 where there is no movement side to side due to the lower receiver overlapping the slide instead of most pistols that the slide overlaps the receiver you'll see why why CZ75 is one of the most accurate pistols out there. The same could be said for guns like the Makarov, and Desert Eagle that the barrel is fixed in place.

Cutting the front of the grip shorter than the rear, so it can work with their extended mag concept, seems kinda stupid. I also don't like the yellow plastic striker thing for longevity. I think I will stay with my 365x...

Striker channel liners (the yellow plastic) have been used in striker fired guns for decades. Just look at a Glock.

@@GBGuns well, being lefty one of the things I'd want is the same thing I want any micro compact to have: an ambi slide release. But I'd also like to see them change up the included magazines. I thought these were compatible with MC2C mags, but that has 13 round flush and 15 round extended mags, but this takes 11 and 14 round mags. It sounds like the magazines might not be intercompatible since their page doesn't even mention being able to use them.

I want a safety but not that one. I would rather have a thumb safety. That safety is a deal killer

These are highly underrated guns! I have the MC2C and love it. Imho it’s just as good as a Sig P365XL or Glock 48 at a much lower price. I did add night sights and the M-Carbo spring kit to mine but the stock trigger ain’t bad at all. The downside is finding holsters and spare mags. I found a nice IWB from Clinger. Thanks for an informative review.

Did you have any issues getting the extractor pivet roll pin out of the Mc2c using the 1/16th punch. I have bent 2 punches on them. I have both the Mc1sc and Mc2c and cant get either of them out. Any help would be appreciated.

It's odd. It doesn't really look any different than the MC1c... But has 3 or 4 more rounds. Guess that's never a bad thing.

An advantage of steel mags over plastic. Thinner walls needed to steel, so a small magazine = thinner grip required to hold the magazine.
@BU1Lander3 жыл бұрын
@@GBGuns This is exactly why Glock should never have used the polymer sleeve on their magazines. The sleeve offers no advantage, and reduces capacity or makes the grip frame thicker for a comparable capacity.
@scotteger62713 жыл бұрын
@@BU1Lander Glock has been resting on their laurels since the 1980’s and it’s why they don’t have relevant competition in the market even now…it took an independent company (Shield Arms) to make the 43x or 48 something that’s even remotely desirable.
@BU1Lander3 жыл бұрын
@@scotteger6271 They DO have the advantage of a massive aftermarket, though. There is a company call Vuurwapen who are making grip frames that will mate to G43/48 slides, but use Sig P365 magazines. So, while you are right, and Glock just rebuilds the same pistol they were making in the 80's smarter businesses can introduce products that can make them relevant again... or at least, parts of them, anyway.
@scotteger62713 жыл бұрын
@@BU1Lander I don’t disagree, in fact I referenced one of those aftermarket companies in my post…I’ll never argue the aftermarket support for Glock because it’s there…but when do consumers finally say enough and get tired of spending $500 on a handgun and another $500 on accessories that make it relevant? Especially when there are other companies making good products from the gate and for less money.

The safety ruins it for me. I would have to reverse it to push it off with my thumb on with my finger, though I don’t like the idea of a safety so close to the trigger even though it’s common on rifles and shotguns.

We were all there at some point. You're new, don't know what to buy, someone talks you into a Glock and so you defend your purchase with all your might, not yet knowing enough, or having experienced enough to know any better. I wrote a somewhat controversial article about this a while back titled, "Why You Should and Shouldn't Glock". Glocks are a great place to learn, and will certainly teach you enough to make a more personal and better-fitting choice the next time. Or, some folks stick with Glock for reasons we may never know.
