Interesting video! A few years ago, I thought about going back to school for business courses once I realized that I was going to be working for myself for a while. But PPA offers business courses tailored specifically for photographers. But it's always interesting to learn about other fields of specialization!

Love this video! Stumbled upon your channel somehow and I’m so glad! I am also an accountant at a private company and I’m so thankful to see videos and information about this side of the accounting world ☺️ Most of the time you see things about public accounting and that is totally not my thing!! I’m with you on the $10 off balance example, gotta find it and won’t leave it alone until I do or until someone talks me off the ledge, haha!!

That’s awesome! So glad you found me 😊 Yes, lots about public accounting!

Thank you so much for this video. I just started an accounting degree via distance learning and you motivate me to keep studying. My questions for part 2 are : 1.How competitive is the accounting field for somebody that wants to get in straight out of college? 2. Is it possible for an online student to get into public accounting? ( so far I heard they recruit on campus only ) 3. What is your opinion on accounting jobs in the government and any tips for landing one? 4. What do you think of CMA license? 5. Do you think it is hard to work under US GAAP if you come from college where all you learn is IFRS? ( My uni is in the UK). And do accountants need to know how to work with both? I would be so grateful if you answered any of these. Distance learning feels lonely at times as you don't have classmates to motivate you with your course

Hello, my name is Rickey. I have just watched your video. I would like to say, I majored in Mathematics before I majored in Accounting, and I like doing Bookkeeping and Accounting work. Do you enjoy doing the same sort of work as I do? I hope you are doing well with it. If so, I hope you will keep up the good work. That is all for now. Thank you for sharing this video. Take care.

I graduated with a A.S in Computer Information Systems and I graduate Dec 2020 with my B.B.A in Accounting, I’m looking to make a career move. I am doing Operations Specialist where I most do Titles for vehicles and Billing. Do you think I can use that experience to switch careers? I’m having a hard time finding somebody to give me that chance.

Great video! Can you give some advice for someone making a career change to accounting? I’m currently getting my MBA w/concentration in Finance but would like a career more geared toward accounting versus finance. Any advice would be appreciated.

let me ask you this. If you own a store (or, carpentry or lawn service or landscaping) and purchase goods(materials, & supplies) in the same state for resale(or consumption of the materials to fulfill your services), and the purchase price "already included" the sales tax, would you need to collect sales tax from your customer? thank you

Hmm. I am on the fence about what masters program I'd like to enter into. Will getting an MSA (Master's of Science in Acc.) hinder me from becoming a manager in the future, as opposed to getting an MBA? Also, do you feel like the MBA program preps you sufficiently for taking the CPA exam?
@SaraMarie6 жыл бұрын
Great question! Everyone that I spoke to said to get an MBA over a masters in accounting. Mostly because of the increased experience with managing. I don't think my MBA prepared me for the CPA at all. But I do plan to do a CPA review course that I hope will refresh my accounting knowledge and prepare me for the CPA. Hopefully that helps!

I am currently doing ACCA and my question is how good is it for an accountant to do masters in economics.. as in from job perspective
@SaraMarie6 жыл бұрын
I took economics during my bachelors degree and haven't used it since. In my experience economics has little to do with my accounting duties. But again, that's just my experience. It probably depends on the employer as well!
