Totally unrelated to the actual video subject, but the intro is much much much better.. the “hi” in the intro is short and simple.. usually it’s that long “hiiiii” which sounds a bit funny after a while. Just throwing this out there 😅

I love my WW2, built about 7 years ago, painted up with a Humbrol military green which is a great colour for it, I am so happy with mine, the original was the car I always wanted as a kid 😊

I remember seeing the original Wild Willy running at a local RC club in the mid 1980's and at the time they seemed rather ridiculous, spending most of their time rolling over and crashing. 4 decades later, I can appreciate their vintage charm but for me, the Willy's Wheeler is even more special, being really fantastic looking and now a rare classic Tamiya kit.

Really fun build. Build it 2 years ago for my daughter. Painting is the most time consuming but worth it. Great kit

Oh my God I just had flashbacks to when I was a kid I had the frog and the grasshopper and my neighbor had a frog and then they got this one and it was so cool man oh my God. Great showman this really brings me back man it's going to be fun but turn down the turning radius. Keeping from flipping over you don't want to mess up the helmet too bad they just look awesome the body is kick ass. I'm really looking forward to watching this video. Piece of God bless

Online I've seen big groups of these gathered together for racing with colorful paintjobs and unique themes. Looks like so much fun.

I did the the tumbling bull variant of this chassis a few months back basically an old school tractor , really fun to mess about with, my daughter liked making it wheelie. Good bit if fun. The last parts tree spru you looked at with the hexes on is the battery retainer ;) look forward to seeing what you do with it :)

They are super cool and a load of fun to drive. The chassis goes together really well and quick, the body it going to take a while though! It is all worth the slow going for the painting though, it looks super cool in the end!

I did a benefit race years ago where 4 man (or woman) teams built and raced these cars. We had 2 hours to build it then concourse judging then 4 races. The winning team each got a car from the loosing teams. It was a great day!

I vote for pro painting of the body, it is such a classic :)

That's a lot of detail painting on that body but the end result would be great on such an iconic car. Never had one, actually your dive through the box in this video is my first good look at one. I know this model has been around forever. Have you done the Holiday Buggy😁? The body shell on that is a pretty decent redition of a full size fiberglass dune buggy kit that came along after the Meyers Minx. So have always been intrigued with the Holiday Buggy body but really not too sure about what's going on with that chassis.

That is seriously cool, I will go for one. Apart from bearings will you keep it stock? And definitely a pro paint job i think the driver painted camo scheme would be different.

A friend had the OG back in the 80's. I bought a 2 about 18 years ago and still have it. The original body had seen better days so picked a new one up off eBay for the XB so I didn't have to paint it. :) I run it on Lipo's now (sometimes with an alarm), but finding one that fits can be a challenge.

I had a second hand one off ebay as I always wanted one. Up graded it and had alot of fun with it but the body really doesn't stand up to a beating lol. I'm just finishing off a brand new one for my collection and yes the body will take ages 😂

I have a friend that told me he sent Tamiya Japan about puttung larger tires on it and beefing up the suspension for a new wild willy 2. They did it and totally ignored him after he sent them the idea back in the 1980's. Not cool Tamiya.

It’s a good kit the original was an m38 Willys jeep but the ww2 didn’t have the licensing from jeep so the kit was just called a stunt vehicle and things like this front grill had to be changed from vertical to horizontal slat’s because that’s jeep’s trade mark and a few other parts had to be changed!

They pretty much didn’t handle any corners. Didn’t jump well. Would roll over at the drop of a hat but I love them. Shame they didn’t make the tyres look like the original
