Very informative and helpful information, and so accurate and true! I ordered and am reading your "Knee Book" and I'm also finding so many spot on comments. I'm 10 weeks post-op right TKR and can thankfully say after a very rough recovery it is now getting better. Thank you for your videos! So glad i found them.

My knee is clicking and that was unnerving until I watched this video. It was especially helpful that you used a model to demonstrate the clicking. Definitely put my mind at ease. Also all the numbness and sensitivity from the nerves is maddening and was totally unexpected. I am almost 4 weeks post op. No information was given prior to surgery. I’m going to suggest my surgeon direct patients to your channel so they are prepared for the surgery. Thank you for all the helpful information.

I agree Jill others need to know there is great information out there. My surgeon told me very little as well. Even with the questions I had.

Thanks for making these TKR videos. They have helped me so much. At the time of this comment I am 13 days out from TKR of my right knee. One of my major problems is the fact that I have a T10-S1 spinal fusion and arachnoiditis which prevents me from getting quality sleep. The TKR has only added to my misery. Your videos help keep me focused with the knowledge that things are going to improve.

Thank you Dr. Rosen, had tkr 4 weeks ago and when watching your videos I feel as if I have my own private Dr. living with me. All of your observations are spot on and your suggestions for relieving pain and how to work out the stiffness has been a great help. I look forward to a full, quick recovery and then on to knee #2. Not looking forward to it, but am looking forward to keeping up with my grandkids and getting back to the activities that I'm used to. Again Thanks

Two weeks out from TKR and the most pain I have is from the results of the tourniquet pressure they used. I have black and blue from the back of my thigh at the knee all the way around to the top of my thigh. The area around the knee doesn’t hurt as much as the results of the tourniquet pressure. Thanks for the video

First of all I truly appreciate the information you provide. I have had two knee replacements on the same leg. Apparently I grow scar tissue at an alarming rate thus making it difficult to get really good range of motion. Any suggestions on how to deal with scar tissue?? I have had over 100 Physio appointments. Many thanks and keep posting.

I was surprised at how sore and bruised my muscles got, including my calf. Sleeping was one of the biggest challenges after the surgery. Moving around and walking seems to help with pain and stiffness. The ice machine helps.

My first experience after TKR on passing through security was setting off the metal detector. I was stripped of all metal items and the security person stated my knee implant of 15 days would not set off the metal detector I was wand down and patted down finally allowed on my way setting off the metal detectors as I went. What I did not expect after TKR was sore bones. The Femur, Tibia and Ankle bones were all very sore. Just sitting the Femur on the toilet was exceptionally painful.

Does a person who is bone on bone absolutely need TKR? I was told by one surgeon no and another said a person could end up in a wheelchair by not getting it. Is this true?

Will my ceramic/ (oxinum?)Smith and Nephew set off the metal detector?
@dradamrosen3 жыл бұрын
I am not 100% sure but most knees do. It can also depend on the sensitivity of the detector.
