I don’t agree. As an USAF Vet, when one has something to lose you play smarter and dying to protect those values is not fearful in any way. In a nano second you stay on point and defeat the enemy and if I’m hit and gone the guys behind me will finish the job. No warning no remorse when you’re protecting freedom.

It was only because I exposed the reality that it was those I was referring to -the troublemakers - that got offended. This gets me. Being your own worst enemy and asking myself - am I one of those ambitious lazy people? Do my actions support my goals and values? Am I giving myself too much grace as a mom, and a business person? Too many excuses? I will have to take this in. My ideas have such bigger and brighter bandwidth than my capabilities seem to so far, yet, but my intentions are good and to be helpful to others, not destructive. You gotta be helpful to yourself, first, huh? Clear a way for your priorities to take precedence over distractions or interruptions. Got to quiet the inner noise of chaotic turmoil making clear decisions and following through on sometimes creates around you...

@@brightpage1020 I don't think he's describing lazy folk who are procrastinators or just not pushing themselves to full potential. He's talking about the kind of laziness that inclines one to subvert ethics, disparage and mercilessly create havoc for others in pursuit of their own goals.

@@FlowtnWitWalden thanks. Yes. It seems almost sinister the way he talks about it. He might be talking about narcissist types or something. I realized recently I was letting a few of my flaws and drawbacks have too much influence over my choices and decisions. I began making changes. I've done it in big ways when younger and the mistakes were obvious then, but now I see things can be subtle too and those can trip you up just as much. Thanks for your encouragement and clarification. I do think there are folks that are so insecure they have to constantly thwart the success of others to feel a hit of power. Those are dangerous for sure.

@brightpage1020
@brightpage1020 3 жыл бұрын
@@asianboyyy117 I bet it's not as bad as you think. If you're able to evaluate it, you can change it. I started doing things a little different after taking this in, making small changes to be more considerate and compassionate, more responsible, and I'm seeing visible changes in my life so far. Positive ones that even my husband has noticed. Just taking stock can be a turning point for better. You don't have to completely overhaul your life or personality. For instance, I have ADHD which a lot of folks think is just an excuse for bad behavior, but it actually affects the executive functioning of the brain. For the last 8 years I wouldn't take anything for it because I was either pregnant or nursing and didn't want that risk for babies, and I was able to get by, but barely, and with some big time management challenges, currently resolving. I'm not generally big on meds but trying to manage my own schedule, husband's, plus that of 4 kids, and include communications with extended family, etc. It turns out running a family is full of executive management skills, (plus being a dishmaid and laundry goddess). The ADHD definitely contributes, as does having so many very young kids. 2 are toddler boys, potty training. 2. It's literally a monkey house. You should see my youngest pitch... I know that for me, the ADHD's a big part of why my mouth goes one way sometimes and my feet can't follow up. And I see how hurtful that can come across, even though that's never my intent. So, I constantly work on this and will soon be considering meds now that the many factory at our house is closed. I have heard they can really help improve things and I owe it to those around me to try whatever I can that might help. Recently, I learned about 10 - 20 minute changes I can implement into my daily routines at intervals. Working on myself to improve in short bursts of manageable project time has helped me stay consistent where I was making these massive efforts that would exhaust me to boredom and give up by day 3, or get interrupted in the thick of it. So, I'm finding the smaller changes tend to be more lasting (so far, at least I made it to Day 5 of a habit challenge I'd previously never been able to get past day 2 or 3, so improvement noted even though I still have long ways to go before meeting my goal with it. At least this way I can keep on the right roads for longer without giving up, giving in, or feeling hopeless.) Stay in the game. I think that's the secret. When you fall off a horse, the faster you get back up anytime you get thrown will show that animal what you are made of. The longer you stay in the sand, the harder it is to recover, and you run the risk of him sighing through his lips with a nod to wander off, like "yeah, that's what I thought." Get back up before he realizes you hit the ground. He may never know the difference. Just keep at it and keep improving at your own pace. If it doesn't work for others, let that be their problem, not yours.

What you commented is often correct, but I'd like to posit a thought. Maybe they're trying to overcome some trauma (or have trouble handling tough situations), by always putting on a smile, and suppressing healthy emotions that they deem as "negative". And it is also said, "fake it 'til you make it". But yeah, it still might be better to stay away from these people, as they haven't worked through their issues yet. Explain underworld and state to me
@sebastianm.d.6840
@sebastianm.d.6840 3 жыл бұрын
@@Bren9989 Let's see, both are social organizations which follow (roughly) the same set of laws, the only difference being that (in first world countries) the underworld is included in the state whereas everywhere else it's (mostly) the other way around (with some degree of enmeshment in second world countries). Both have functional economies that rely on some form of exploitation (overly high taxes in first world countries (state), "protection" fees (underworld). Modus operandi in both the state and the underworld. Both have a set of laws at their core which ensures their continued existence. Their underlying aim is to exhort as much revenue (either money, goods or services) from the bulk of their members as possible (whilst keeping a standard of living high enough not encourage an uprising or coup). The most visible difference between the two is their reaction to a member deviating from said laws. The state tends to be more lenient; not paying taxes for, say, an year or longer can earn you a hefty fine or even jail, whilst not paying the mob their due, can get you to spend the rest of your days on the bottom of a lake with a rock tied around your neck. In first world countries the state is much stronger (in terms of available manpower, firepower, influence) than the underworld (which often has to skulk in the shadows, preying on the bottom 40% of society). In third world countries the cartel runs the state either overtly or covertly (it doesn't really make a difference since they also control the media (everything is fine)). Needless to say, the state in third world countries is weak, can at most muster up people with minimal or no military training and arm them with soviet era weaponry (AK-47s, RPG-7s, etc.). While effective against regular people wanting to get by, they're unlikely to be any match for any vetted unit (e.g. Spetsnaz, Seals, Delta Force), which brings us to the next point: First world countries operate by the same principles the underworld does towards regular people, to third world countries.

Elaborating on Pat's wise words - The intuition is simple, when you get higher enough you begin to see the diviser between the great and the average is work rate. As Pat explains, these AL people are talented, they have the brains, they even have the connections, they have the vision, they have the plan - but what they don't know is that they really do not want to actually put the work in! They want to see movies, they want to have breakfast, they want holiday,etc. This makes them lazy by not having a high work rate, they put 7+ hours and then procrastinate, which is an easy way to get left behind. So why should AL people not be made enemies? You ignite the burning desire, you give them a shock of their reality - being their visionary desires will never be fulfilled, you embarrass them internally. Now these people become less lazy and put much more work in, and will come relentlessly at you. The other factor, would be AL people are not rare once you have reached a certain level of success, they actually make the numbers. Hence, you will have a mob of newly adjusted perceptions of hard work, the brains and other things, coming at you.
