When thinking about Pinoy comfort foods, there’s nothing more comforting than having a plate of Tapsilog and a warm, scrumptious and hearty bowl of Lomi, these surely satiate cravings as any comfort food can. Whether it’s for everyday meals or as an occasional snack, this Lomi savory noodle soup topped with delectable meat and vegetables has undeniably etched its place in Filipino cuisine and culture. In fact, many food enthusiasts consider Lomi as the most well-loved noodle dish in Lipa, Batangas. Maraming salamat, Kurt for sharing your carinderia food adventures, we really enjoyed watching your vlogs. Your avid viewers from Illinois, Josephine & Jocelyn

Tapsilog was just a copy of Malaysia's national dish. Nasi Lemak. Malaysia had that for centuries. Philippined just made tapsilog for the urban poor of big cities? Tapsilog eaten for lunch or dinner is just sad.
@JoJoTwins5 ай бұрын
@@eduardochavacano Filipino cuisine is indeed a fusion of indigenous flavors, Spanish influences from colonization, and influences from Chinese, Malay, and all other Asian cuisines that created a distinct Filipino identity marked by adaptability. Take for instance, Filipino Pancit Canton is a version of Chow Mein and Lo Mein in China. In Puerto Rico and in Spain, they have Lechon too, the same name and same preparation. Lechon is also a version of Leitão in Portugal. However, Adobo definitely originated in the Philippines. Filipino natives invented it, but a Spanish Friar Pedro de San Buenaventura gave its name in 1613. Mexico and Spain has Adobo dish too, the same name but different recipe as well as Portugal, which they call it Carne de vinha d’alos. The Spanish adobo sauce is distinctly spiced and fiery, with at least three kinds of chili peppers, tomato paste, and cinnamon among its ingredients while the Mexican rendition uses lemon juice, cumin, and Mexican oregano. And by the way, there’s nothing wrong about eating Tapsilog for every meal of the week. It’s hearty enough for a family dinner, exciting enough for a weekend brunch, and can be scaled down for a simple afternoon meal, for those times when you forget to eat until noon. It’s sure to fill you up fast.
@sweetmorena3 ай бұрын
@@eduardochavacano Nasi lemak is different from tapsilog because it is cooked with coconut milk and paired with fried anchovies, peanuts, boiled eggs, cucumber slices, and sambal. The flavor profiles of nasi lemak and tapsilog are quite different. Tapsilog is more flavorful and satisfying due to its preparation and added protein. While I also enjoy nasi lemak, tapsilog is my go-to dish.

Authentic tapsilog in d province - beef tapa taste is a bit salty & not sweetened, na mas masarap lasa kung hindi matamis ang beef or pork tapa😃 Beef tapa now here in manila tastes are sweetened which is bad for those diabetic oldies like me😢 same thing with longanisas are marinated with sugary taste also. Cooks now love to cook by adding more sugar sa dishes nila😢hope pag oldies na sila ay hindi sila magkaron ng sakit na diabetes😅goodluck😂

I don’t think it’s specifically your weight that’s why you’re sweating all the time in the Philippines. I went back home a month ago and I was sweating bullets!! Standing or sitting still, walking or 2 seconds after a cold shower, laying down you name it! It takes awhile for our bodies to acclimate to the hot and humid weather especially coming from the US. On a side note, please go to Malabon city on your next trip! Very underrated place and not really featured yet on KZbin. Aling Mely’s restaurant is a real start from nothing and she’s 80+ yrs old and still there everyday! If you’re there in January, I would gladly take you around! 👍🏼

Nice to see you get emotional over the tapsilog at Emily in Pares. And, it's nice that you've tried the Lomi Batangas in Amadeo, Cavite. I like it that you ask the local how to eat the food, and initially do the preparations that need to be initiated before digging in. I suggest you ask the names of the viands (mga ulam) already displayed, to familiarize your viewers on different Filipino food. You might want to try those you haven't tried yet. Just one at a time maybe? Although I know tapsilog is your favorite. Stay healthy Kurt. Peace.

If you're still in the Philippines, you should get a card made that has all your social media info on it. It's like a calling card back in the days. I saw one YTuber that did this and it helped him because people tend to forget after you tell them your channel, not unless they write it down. And it's cheap to get those cards made there as oppose to the U.S., just ask the locals where to go. You can just bring a dozen each time you go out and pass them out to those interested or to whoever you talk to out in the streets. They'll be able to spread the word about your channel because people need to see your channel because your content is very unique. And maybe they can post your card on their wall for people to see and check out. Hope this helps

The texture is similar to a beef jerky. Masarap talaga kumain ng tapsilog. It's an explosion of flavour in your mouth.

Hi kuya kurt.. just so you know, the phrase the lady said "bakit? hindi ba halata?" literally translate to - Why? Isn't it obvious?.. to us Filipinos, that a bit damning, insulting to a point. Mejo pagka mayabang si ate.. in the hospitality business like "karinderia" you should always be respectful. in that phrase, she just excelled herself as the owner of the place, in the most unfortable way.. i like the fact that you still gave a good review of the place in spite of the fact! and what makes it worst is she said "nevermind" when you asked her ehat she meant by it!. A respectful person always tries to explain what they meant if what they said is misunderstood!
