I'm not sure if these people are real or not, but it's crazy to me how they try to save money in such nearly insignificant ways. There are far better ways to manage savings, and trying to cut the amount on bills like this is so asanine. You could also look at it this way: she's losing money more than saving it. She has two bedrooms their family isn't using, therefore they aren't using their money's worth on the house, because they've lowered the amount of square feet on the house for a reason that doesn't actually benefit them at all.
