Looks like Diamond Protech did their homework on that spray sealant/coating. I love channel Dmitry. You are like the Albert Einstein of testing on detailing products. Its nice to have an honest person like yourself who enjoys doing these deep dive tests on all the detailing products so we can make an informed decision on whether or not to purchase the product(s) you are testing.

i have been waiting for a good video on this product for sooooo long! Have Been using it in our shop for 6 month now, just deconed our first car and performance is still amazing. The best part is instant cure time, and crazy slickness! I really do think this product is the best spray on the market at the moment, along with jade jet. We buy empty 20ml sprayers off amazon and fill them right before the job. Throw out after, never have clogged sprayers and each worker can have their own sprayer. 20-40ml per car depending on size.

Really awesome to hear a field report on this, because obviously synthetic tests don't always tell the full picture. Great to hear it's performing well after 6 months, and survived the decon. That's already a big thing many of these super easy sprays can't do. Thanks for taking the time to comment!

This was the best coating in Scott’s coating challenges. (Not the spray but one of their coatings) Back then it was an under a different name as it wasn’t available in the US at the time. Once they decided to hit the US market they changed the name to what it is now. It was called NGNT Pro before they came to the states

Great review as always! Do you have plans to test Griot's Garage Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax? I’ve seen many tests were when matched up against many other spray sealants it always comes out on top, as far as durability.
@DmitrysGarage10 күн бұрын
I've tested the 3-in-1 in the past, though it was with my older test suite before we got this elcometer. I don't think the two products are in the same league as far as durability. Griots isn't a bad product, but its a much more traditional silica sealant as far as it's characteristics. Granted it's also been a couple of years so maybe formulas changed.

I have been using ceramic sprays, most recent was Adams Graphine Ceramic Coating Advance and i like it but have been considering something that stays slick for a longer time, i will say Adams is pretty durable at least as a once-a-year coating, i did take a look at your test results page (very awesome btw!) I like how durable and slick this product is. If i decide to purchase i will use your affiliate link. Thanks!

Great video as usual. I'd suggest that you add a road grime resistance test in combination with the wash. Some products offer great durability but can get clogged too easily ruining its water repellency after just a short drive on dirty roads. Even jet washing can't get rid of the dirt and you need to use either APC or a contact wash to restore it's characteristics.

What about the uv test?
@DmitrysGarage10 күн бұрын
I still do them, you can see the score at the end or on the website. It was just the most skipped segment since we never got interesting results. Im working up a different test to see how these protect from contact with oxidizers with UV acting almost like a supercharger for those chemicals. For instance water and UV is a worse combination than just UV as a general rule, or bleach speeds up with UV as well.
@TheBreakfastLover10 күн бұрын
@@DmitrysGarage perhaps there's some kind of oxidation-susceptible panel that exists. Either that or apple slices.
@DmitrysGarage10 күн бұрын
I like your thinking =), though apple slices may be tough to coat. Most likely I will just use a base paint with and without out clear coat. The UV oven I have bakes the color out of it so quickly without clear coat, takes a lot longer with clear coat. Then that can be compared to the oxidation protection clear coat gives, the coating gives, and clear + coating give, as well as relevant controls. If there are interesting results the testing may change. I suspect this is the nature of the protection these products can realistically provide, i.e. keeping water off your paint so it's not being supercharged by UV.
@TheBreakfastLover9 күн бұрын
@@DmitrysGarage from what I've gathered, the sealant or coating protects clear coat from oxidation, which preserves the clear coat's ability to block UV. So maybe there's a test to see how well the coatings prevent oxidation without involving UV. Just a thought.
@DmitrysGarage9 күн бұрын
That is also a part of the mechanism yes, to avoid abrasion and oxidation of the clear coat. Oxidation is generally sped up by UV which is I suspect where part of the UV claim comes from and part from preserving the clear coat. I am looking at other oxidation related test it's just oxidation can be real slow without UV unless you're using real harsh stuff hah.

@DmitrysGarage I mean to show off the hydrophobics on it like you did before you got your fancy machines. You use the hood to show application, visual appeal, slickness etc but no beading unless I miss it in the videos? I just miss the way you did it before that's all.. 🙁 Love you.

Their website says it only gives 6 months of protection so I’m confused now.
@DmitrysGarage9 күн бұрын
I'm hoping more viewers who have used the product chime in with experiences long term. It's possible the product degrades environmentally over time. My testing is an abrasion (durability) test so it shows physical resistance. It's generally a good correlation for longevity, certainly long lasting products are highly durable. It's also possible they're being conservative in their marketing or using the marketing to position this product in a certain niche. Another viewer said they recently did a decon wash on a car they treated 6 months ago and it was still working great. I suspect 6 months is probably a conservative estimate.
@stephenlouden4809 күн бұрын
why do diamond protek state 6 months durability on this but you get like 700 washes. 6 months washing car weekly is 24 washes so shouldnt they update the durability stated to at least 2 years or 100 washes minimum. maybe its not very chemical resistant which would drastically degrade its durability? since Diamond protek states only 6 months i cannot commit to getting this as Gyeon cancoat lasts over a year and is just as easy to apply

I understand that you want to go more scientific but the tests are now completely synthetic
@DmitrysGarage7 күн бұрын
I would say they were always synthetic. They're just more repeatable now. Unfortunately "real life" style tests are very specific to each individual, so you need huge sample sizes to get any meaningful results. For instance one person who works from home in a mild climate will have a very different experience than someone driving their work truck through the rust belt all day.
@Yourneighbours17 күн бұрын
@DmitrysGarage I agree that people could be living anywhere. However your climate is already quite harsh - sunny, humid and polluted air. Perfect for a good real life test. I admit a thousand washes would be painful.
@DmitrysGarage7 күн бұрын
@ Yea there's definitely practical limitations to real life washes to consider. Did I scrub harder one day than another? How many tests can I run the same way at once? Is it a cold year or a hot year? Overall I just don't value the largely low quality quantitative and qualitative data gained from one person's unique experience. It's just not what the channel is about.
@Yourneighbours17 күн бұрын
@DmitrysGarage I understand and appreciate your point of view. This how we do our car washing - scrub harder here, lighter there and see how the staff will react to it. Scrubbing it with a polished cloth on the machine isnt a garage, its a syntetic lab.
@DmitrysGarage7 күн бұрын
@@Yourneighbours1I get what you're saying, but a goal in research/science is repeatability. Anyone can get the same machine and do the same test and attempt to confirm my results. The machine approximates abrasion from washes through the use of a very simple shampoo (Adam's original blue) and a terry cloth based sponge, it's not a polishing cloth. Is it real life washes? Nope, but everyone's real life wash is going to be different making the data low quality without a lot of it to average.
