Most Efficient Water Heater You Can Buy

Maybe there is a little artistic license with the title, however it isn't far from true. The Sanden SANCO2 is an incredibly efficient water heater though. In this week's video Jake Bruton with Aarow Building talks about their choice to use the Sanden unit in a project.

Jake, who and where is their US distributor. We have used the hybrid water heaters with good success, this more advanced system is even more intriguing.

Ours came through 475 Supply in NYC. However I do not believe they still carry. Online would be the source as far as I know.

What about the cost of the heat tape?

Absolutely there is a cost to run the heat tape. In my market however that heat tape only runs two months out of the year and draws less than the toaster. The overall is still way better than most WH.

@@jake.bruton.aarow.building if you buy the sanco2 trace heat cable does it come on automatically or is it up to the homeowner to turn it on? Here in CT and I'm sure elsewhere temps can range from above freezing to below over the course of a day

@@stevemcfarland4661 The outdoor unit has terminals for the heat trace tape, which is temperature activated and draws about 50W at 0F.

@jake.burton.aarow.building with this unit being installed over a year now was their any issues with it during winter time in your cold climate. We are located in climate zone 5 and wondering if heat tape would still keep water lines from freezing in winter. We occasionally reach -20 F during winter.

No issues. We had a week this year we didn’t get above 0 degrees F and it was fine.
