Blast from the past! Some time ago, I stopped creating weekly supporter videos for viewers who were financially helping to keep the channel afloat. I'm slowly releasing a few of the more popular ones so you may have seen the much shorter version a few years ago. Enjoy!

I was literally just going through my old hard drive and watched a run through the Blue Dot Singles. Sad to say that stand of the forest in the tile has been logged. RIP blue dots, awesome track 👌

Thanks for the awesome video as always big guy 😊 I had a little chuckle about the Beta comment ‘slow technical riding’ (which it is definitely awesome for).. I bought mine after watching Geoff Ballard ripping on a stock unit 😊 In his video he says he tried various suspension mods…..(😊) and found the stock setup was what he ended up going back to. I believe even though he’s older than most of us (yes I’m 60+), he would still be showing up many younger riders. Regards and respect to you and Jeff. Ricko 👌

PIles of fun, Paul! And not crazy fast either so hopefully not too much damage if a bar clips a tree...

Thanks Adam! The funny thing is I thought the other guys were pushing pretty hard. But after I released the vid they said they were just at fast cruise pace. But I was really fighting to stay with them on the Xtrainer lol. It's a great bike for the snotty terrain but really twitchy once you hit third gear with that bouncy suspension and fast steering. As they say, 80% the bike, only 20% the rider. 🤣

I really enjoy when i get to ride a different terrain, style of riding, than i am used to. Where I live in the northeastern US traction is non-existant, and where i have access to ride is either open logging roads, or tight twisty tight technical stuff. My mind was blown when on a road trip i got to try riding a bit in the northwest, and a bit down on the dry rock/sand of the central us deserts. It was so much easier, because traction wasnt ever a problem, i just had to learn how to deal with higher speeds. One particular bit I remember was called the high speed mesa, on the poison spider trail out in moab utah. The thought of pounding through continual woops in the desert at speed scared me a bit, but once getting into it, it was such good fun. My wife just has to talk me out of trying to make the trip back every six months.

Good stuff! A bit similar for us when we did an outback tour... lots of soft sand, woops and fast trails.

@@crosstrainingenduro Thanks! Should be going back in the saddle soon! three weeks or so I hopes! Unfortunately I’m in Idaho and soon winter will be on its way. That’s the price we pay to play sometimes! Hope snow holds off till mid-December !! Cheers man! Ride on!!

I sampled a bit of cold weather riding in Canada. Brrrrr. In the sub tropics winter is our perfect riding weather! Then we tend to avoid summer riding nowadays, it beats us up too much.

I agree…mix in some speed. Isn’t one of the benefits of learning to ride slow being able to go faster, easier? Those berms look pretty solid to me….look past and take a chance. Nice ride. Cheers.

Great to hear. When making the vids I picture where I'll probably be wondering 'how much longer?' and put a note like that on the longer vids. 😊

Not sure about you David, but I am so rusty after six weeks off... it can take the entire ride to get back in the groove sometimes.

I like the voice over. I’m going to practice that on my videos. Do you have a picture or video of your camera/mic setup?
@crosstrainingenduro3 ай бұрын
I just use the Gopro itself. Hold it close to your mouth but off to the side so you don't get the 'phhh' sound on the letter 'p'. Remember it's stereo so have it centred properly. Import it into your editing software then just delete the video part. It tends to have a bit too much bass so I drop the volume a bit on the lowest setting in the EQ.

Where can I look to find trails in my area? (Sydney NSW) I grew up on dirt bikes, went to road bikes for 15 years, now I’m back on the soft stuff, and looking for more places to ride! Is there an online resource these days?

Trans Australia Trails is good for dual sport riding. But I don't think there's anything public for enduro riding.

Long time viewer, love the stuff. I was about to say the music was too loud... but it stopped 3 minutes in. Vids are much better with just the bike sounds. I feel like 10 or 15 seconds of music for the intro would be fine (or none at all.) It was getting distracting to my ADHD brain
@crosstrainingenduro4 ай бұрын
Yep, over the years I regularly checked with supporters about the music and settled on a balance that suited the majority. 😊

Forest floor trails are so much nicer to ride with all the organic on the ground instead of dust and gravel.
