6 decades surfing there on south swells, many Jalama burgers consumed. Never camped or paid to get in , only one hour from home. Family fav for generations. The springtime drive in when it’s green and the poppies are popping is vintage untouched California Rancho life. Also great ride to bike in on during the week when traffic isn’t an issue. No Place like home Toto

Love that area too! I’m a California girl growing up in LA. Glad they won!! 💙 I love when you show what you eat and daily activities. Thank you for your consistent posts. My husband and I just bought a trailer in March and have been out in it 6 times. We love it but now that it’s getting cold we are wondering if we should try a trip down south but then think it’s probably going to be too crowded….

Good morning Cat! 🌄 Oh yes...the ocean 🌊 is a favorite place of mine. Those beautiful crashing waves are so amazing! Those shots of the sunset you got were spectacular!! Yes staying and camping on the beach 🏖️ rejuvenates the soul I believe. Sea air, sea breeze...all good stuff there. Your burgers you two bought looked delicious! 😋 🍔🍟 What a lovely spot to stop and camp at. I hope you enjoyed your stay there. Another great video of beautiful places you always seem to find! Thanks Cat, 😃 and a great big shot out to the Los Angeles Dodgers!! ⚾🏆🎉

Good morning Cat and Joey. I have been camping at Jalama since the mid 70's. As much as I love my Sierra mountains (Eastern), I can visit the beach daily. I live in Carpinteria, and still make the drive to Jalama. But you often speak highly of the Eastern Sierra, which has been my getaway many years. I know all the places you have visited there and raised my kids there too. Thanks for sharing your trips. Yay Dodgers!🎉

I grew up in Florida and left in 1991. I have to get back to an ocean every once in a while to renew my soul. There is something about getting my feet back in the salt water that does that for me. I live in Missouri now, so it’s not as easy as it used to be. But if I travel anywhere close to a coast, you can bet I’ll make it to the water.

I think for my family and I, the ocean is our favorite place to camp. The kids love playing at the beach and bodyboarding. My wife and I love sitting under the umbrella and enjoying the ocean views which are just so majestic. Thank you for sharing your RV camping experiences as always. So cool to watch and I always seem to learn something new I didn't know. We've never been to Jalama Beach before and we're not too far from Santa Barbara.

Morning Ms Cat. Beautiful area of the world. I just did a ride from the DC area to Monterey CA via Yosemite, and up the northern CA coast. I lived in Monterey in the 80s. We camped at Big Sur and found reasonable motels otherwise. It was spectacular! Except for a socked in Golden Gate crossing the weather was perfect. The roads and views were worth the miles across some flat and deserted areas. Thanks for this video, it makes me want to go back. 🥳😁

I'm like you Catherine. I spent my life in NE Florida. I can leave the coast for periods of time but that Ocean always calls me home. It's in my blood. To stand on the beach...to swim in the water...to surf the rolling waves ...catch the wild fish of many kinds and eat the famous. "Mayport Shrimp". Fishing in Mayport since 1562. On the Mighty St. Johns.

You are such a good Photographer ! ❤ You seem to have a deep peace in your soul , to catch such really timeless moment s.really beautiful. I love that tree with roots and the brilliant yellow leaves from last video. And the vastness you caught of the ocean, sky, waves and seemingly small surfers, brilliant ! I myself, feel very restless at the ocean, i get goosebump chills and my bedding feels damp. So im uncomfortable. Its like that song Horse With No Name , but unlike the desert, its never quiet. The intermountain West/ mountains/ desert for me.

Great video. another fantastic spot. You are right about crowded campgrounds, it can be miserable and it can be great. In the right setting that is just fine. That is one of the wonderful things about RV camping. So many options of where to park. While you were camped there, we were in Liberty Harbour RV park in Jersey City of all places. Would not be a great campground if it was in Big Bend National Park, but considering its location, it is a wonderful place to park the trailer for a few days.

I took my wife and two kids there in the early 2000's for a spring break vacation. We had a great time while adding surf fishing to our activities. I landed 2 large Cabazon and a crab ( went back) and large surf perch. A medical helicopter landed on the beach also to treat the new nurses lunch at the Cafe. I wonder if the camp closes during rocket launches as they did in the past? Keep up the fine work!
