Nice minis! I like that the game does not require vast numbers of figures. Eight playing pieces a side can be enough.
@BlackMagicCraftOfficial2 жыл бұрын
And you don’t get to choose what those 8 pieces are. No min/maxing, no net list building, no power gaming. We really wanted a chess like element to p gameplay.

@markfergerson21452 жыл бұрын
@@BlackMagicCraftOfficial Apropos of the chess-like element; I love that you decided to go with a generic nonhuman skin tone. It reminds me of the generic gray everyone became at one point in LeGuin's "Lathe of Heaven". I'm assuming the game's lore develops from the generic Judaeo-Christian mythos what with Heaven and Hell. Well, in that mythos the dead are "reborn" into incorruptible bodies that presumably are not flesh so the skin tone is perfect. Still, I get your desire to have some color. You say that each idol a player gets is aligned with a unique order. Could their garment have a color associated with that order? In chess a piece's shape tells you about its powers/skills/limitations at a glance but the minis have shapes (postures) that apparently don't have a direct association with an order (unless I missed something), so you could make sets of minis, each posture with a garment of one of the eight colors to choose for your "squad". Just a thought.
@BlackMagicCraftOfficial2 жыл бұрын
@@markfergerson2145 the lost minis are completely unrelated to any orders or the players minis. They are part of the setting 🙂

I love the way you're really pushing the boundaries of what you can do, creating a new game, making your own mini's and so on, yet there's still room on the table for those old ruined walls from way back in the channel's history. Those minis look amazing; a bit like Kingdom Death: Monster, but without the sexualization. Cool, Mannerist little sculptures. That grim and grey paint job is really atmospheric.
@nekrataali2 жыл бұрын
Also people should look up "Mannerism" if they don't know what it is. One of my favorite art movements of all time. It's when artists started to experiment with colors and body proportions, rather than art movements of the Renaissance that focus on realistic and natural proportions/colors. One cool thing about Mannerism is for a long time, historians weren't sure who the first person to experiment in colors that would create the movement. Then in the 1980s, the Sistine Chapel got itself a really good scrubbing and it turned out to look nothing like we thought. Turns out, Mannerists were the successors of Michelangelo. With the Sistine Chapel able to show its true colors, we were able to uncover what started Mannerism.

I can not wait to have these minis in my hands! Not only did you nail the amazing aesthetic of your own world and have given your own minis a fitting appearance, but I think you have hit that sweet spot some Minis miss by making them really non-specific in their base appearance, so that even someone who would not be playing the game could use them for any kind of townsfolk or prisoners, or even zombies if you paint them up green! This is exciting for a hobbyist like myself. I love this kind of activity more than TV or drinking. We have a couple 3D printers in the lab for anyone to use for personal or business. I love airbrushing also. It's easy to make endless copies once you have the design. With the current video motion tracking and object recognition methods, simulations of the character's interactions in any scenario can be played with predicted outcome for every action (one pixel centriol algorithm on an AMD/XILINX chipset). This could allow designers to explore even more character/group abilities and engage in tournaments.

God, these models look fantastic. These are the faces of anguish. What makes them better is they can have a number of different uses. As objective markers. Mixed into hordes of ghosts. Used as slaves or prisoners take by other factions. Stuck on some larger monster's base, or a few on their own base as Unit Filler for a band of infantry/cavalry.
