I put together a 7-string on Aristides's site and it came to about $3,800. Definitely pricey, but I've seen many non-custom guitars go for much more money. The custom Evertune bridge was about an $800 addition.

Not sure if you knew this before but a 7-string version of this multiscale evertune bridge has been developed before (by Aristedes obviously). Its a white 070sr with Fishman Fluence Moderns, and I believe that the guitar in question is still owned by Mike Stringer of Spiritbox (it was showcased breifly in a spiritbox short and he talked about it a bit, but I'm not sure as of right now that he still owns it).

Aristides has given the green light for their redesign to be used at no cost to Evertune. No RND fees, they already have access to the plans. I hope Evertune takes them up on their offer.

Can evertune be used in a way to allow for thinner strings at low tunings? I play drop Eb, 27" scale. I have to use really quite heavy strings because if i dig in even slightly the notes go sharp some amount, when playing chords (chugs) the strings may go sharp different small amounts, causing it to go out of tune until the strings die down a little? Basically, slighter thinner strings would have a more ideal tone, more bite and less muddy, but hoping an evertune would cou teract they BYOOOOOAAAAoooowwww sound?
@BaenaCarcosa
@BaenaCarcosa 10 ай бұрын
That’s more or less exactly what it was designed to do in terms of getting rid of the pick attack causing notes to go sharp. However, I believe the thickest string this bridge will allow for is an 80. You still need to be using strings that can intonate properly for your desired tuning. So it might be possible to use slightly thinner strings since you don’t have to worry about pick attack, but there’s still a range in which it has to work… I guess long story short is I don’t really know and it’s gonna depend what strings you’re using
@Poepopdestoep
@Poepopdestoep 10 ай бұрын
Correction, i use an 84 with my 080 evertune. So at least an 84, might even be possible with thicker strings. You do have to drill out the hipshot tuner tho :)@@BaenaCarcosa
@Snivic-music
@Snivic-music 10 ай бұрын
i doubt Evertune will make a fanned fret version of the bridge, reason being that pretty much all guitar brands have a different angle on the fanned frets. they would have to make to many different models which would cost too much in development and production.
@BaenaCarcosa
@BaenaCarcosa 10 ай бұрын
Interesting and good point I didn’t really think of that. I guess they’d have to just pick the most popular option like 25.5-27” and hope for the best which might not be very efficient
@Snivic-music
@Snivic-music 10 ай бұрын
@@BaenaCarcosa btw, just ask Pascal if they can add the Evertune to your custom 080S, you have a fixed bridge on it now so in theory it should still be possible

@Snivic-music
@Snivic-music 10 ай бұрын
@@Poepopdestoep the only difference is that the current bridge is string through and all the saddles are routed into the body by about 2mm. The evertune routing takes away pretty much the whole existing bridge section, the body itself has no different reinforcements as far as i know (at least i never saw any when i worked at Aristides)

From what I've seen, they are working on adapting their new bass bridge to guitars. That would make each string have its own independent module, meaning that you could set the scale length and positioning entirely separately for each string.

My honest opinion as someone who’s had two, not really, unless you’re touring, in which case he’s having a guitar always in tune is very helpful, but as a bedroom player I have all the time to tune before I jam haha, and evertune is an awesome thing, but to skip the 5 mins or so I spend tuning when I play isn’t worth the money to me personally

I love the concept of a multiscale ET8, but I actually hear a little bit of that tubular/honkiness/split sound that you alerted me to about my Strandberg 8 with the bridge pickup being too far from the bridge. That made me sell my Strandberg btw. I was never happy with the tone and couldn't pinpoint it, but as soon as I saw you saying that in another video it was a lightbulb moment for me.
@BaenaCarcosa
@BaenaCarcosa 10 ай бұрын
For sure, I am not a fan of that type of sound either as you know. With that being said I did just realize that I forgot to mention that I was using the split-coil function on the bridge pickup for the demo section at 8:26 (the previous part split coil was off) if that is what you are referring to. If not, then maybe the sound just isn't for you and that is of course also fair!
