@@LudietHistoria Some of the monuments are more like Mountains etc, which "can" be upgraded - but gives the bonus at tier 0/1 without having to be upgraded. So make sure to check the first tooltip for effects. Yet - also a lot of "placeholders" still, with a lot of local defensiveness/prestige bonus in castles all over France/Italy/Germany especially.

Amsterdam having the lvl 4 tradecenter at 1444 is really historical inaccurate. Amsterdam back then was only a local tradecity, being overshadowed by many other Dutch towns/cities and espcially by the Flemish towns like Antwerp and Brugge. Only in the 16th century it would develop into a regional and eventually a world trading center, but definitely not in 1444 already.
@MrDwarfpitcher
@MrDwarfpitcher 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah but this mod like many has either to code that in by events. Which is a ton of work. Or it should have it from the get go. So if we are going to nitpick it, then we should do it with all the inaccuracies. But your point is most certainly valid, the most wealth in the Netherlands used to be situated in the Southern Flemish lands

especially if they've kept the vanilla merc scaling, where at around 1600 they become too expensive to use a lot of, even for a nation like Switzerland. and end up becoming more of a "sure my economy will die, but so will my enemies" kind of last ditch effort if your armies have been stomped. I've always thought the vanilla SP armies were a bit too comfortable, only been a few times I've had to seriously strain myself to win against even MUCH stronger enemies. I wish there would be more wars like MP were you are seriously straining yourself to achieve a goal. maybe not as hard as in MP where everyone is bankrupt after every war. but a happy middleground between the two extremes

If based off Beyond Typhus, the reason development is so high is because they doubled average dev but halved the effects each individual development has (both to have greater dev gradients and to nerf dev cost reduction stacking)

@@danielmacpherson8487 I think the main issue with dev is the mana points. It should grow according to a logistic function that you can influence with decisions, policies, or spending.
@danielmacpherson8487
@danielmacpherson8487 2 жыл бұрын
@@philsburydoboy Yeah decisions & events, Global change (like trade good value, what cultures/religions are revered and reviled at the time) and maybe something like a state edict that encourages either of the 3, or perhaps 2 at the expense of one should all impact it in EU5, a lot of people have been asking for a return to population but I think thats too extreme and will hurt the amount of people that enjoy or even buy the game, however, adding some kind of 'Dev Migration' could work, and that could be effected by things like Golden Ages, and the things you and me have already mentioned, but primarily through devastation/prosperity. it would encourage people to actually care for their citizens, building forts in large undefended areas, building a larger navy to hunt pirates and probably a lot of other things too. Now that I think about it, that IS how dev works, it's just done exclusively through events and not a whole lot of them either.

Novgorod language at that time was actually quite distinct from Moscovaty in fact if it was not for conquest of Novgorod and various purges by Ivan the Terrible it was at verge of becoming forth part of Eastern Slavic family group language along side with Belarusian, Ukrainian and Russian. Also they were never conquered by Mongols and it did leave big cultural mark on Novgorod as well. Simple example might be Veche council institution going back to times of Kievan Rus which derived from elders council of Slavic Tribes in area and it was disbanded by mongols everywhere in Russian region they came across and appointed princes who would have absolute authority in the name of great Khan however it never happened in Novgorod and they still have Veche at beginning of Eu4 making it not forgotten almost 500 year old tradition at 15 century.

I exclusively play this mod and I can tell you it has some issues. Firstly, any start date beyond 1444 likely had nation/border issues (Spain exists but so does Castile and Aragon, all independent, the Commonwealth is a mess). Events and missions may be locked even if you meet the conditions. If you start during the American revolution and win too fast and peace out without triggering the events for France, Spain, Netherlands, and Prussia you become hard locked from a ton of American events and missions. So knowing how to search through the files and use the debugger is pretty important. Also, there’s far more flavor than you’ve seen. New monuments pop into existence based on cultures, religions, national events, dates, etc. Monuments are 100% how you gain power in this mod, far more than provinces and development. As America, if you take over their borders the monuments you get make you practically unstoppable. You’ll be the most broken militarized republic with infinite prestige and Republican tradition, plus constantly increasing arm tradition and professionalism. It’s insane how strong monuments make a nation. There’s also a lot of mechanics you couldn’t have seen in that short of a time. Unique vassals, colonial subjects, governments, you can unlock different government reforms by focusing on nobility reforms, clergy, etc, and a lot of other really cool features. Brandenburg becomes Brandenburg-Prussia, then Prussia, and you can make unique German vassals which are stronger, don’t take a diplo slot, but are very difficult to keep loyal. The HRE has a lot of new events and mechanics. Natural wonders exist as monuments that can’t Ben upgraded but always give you their benefits. You can build trench networks. Definitely a fun mod for sure. Well worth it in my opinion. Just practice your debugger skills, cause this mod needs some TLC to iron out event, mission, and border issues.

I like how they even have the little Danish (today German) island of Heligoland not going to lie love the detail. Through I guess technically speaking Galata was not defended by the Theodosian walls.

Andorra is there. You had my curiosity but now you have my attention!. Honestly I have to try this mod and (re)conquer all Aragon and form a Comerce Empire.😂😂 And BTW the primary ciltural group in Aragon should be Catalan since it used to be the most influencial culture there. I still don't understand the seppsration between Catalan Valencian and Balearic culture.

Campaigns with this mod certainly be more refreshing than vanilla since the same game has been played for over 8 years haha. Can't guarantee the 'historical accuracy' after mid-game but at least the details of the starting situation are just fascinating in my point of view.
