I got stuck in an ankle lock yesterday in sparring, and even though it hurt I got out of it doing exactly what you said in this video. Thanks! 😃

2 basic concepts that helped me prevent a lot of footlocks. 1. control their feet. 2. close the distance and keep as much pressure on them as possible.

This is hilarious. Those panic reaction mimics were so on point! 🤣 I think big part of leglockofobia is that it's a fairly new concept in jiu-jitsu, thus jiu-jitsu wrestlers tend to think it's automatically "high level stuff". Even black belts. Until few years ago it was still widely consodered a "dirty move" which only Catch / Sambo wrestlers do! Coming with Catch wrestling mindset, I get exactly the same "awww, look at this cute little snake" reaction coach was doing. Haha! It was also on point. 🎯 I'm definitely gonna steal this presentation!

As I expected, this was a great video! I was not expecting the video of the 🐍 though 🤣😂

I've always found the best way to deal with this. Is really trying to understand what the attacker has to do to finish the move. Sometimes coaches teach it in a disconnected way and it makes it hard to remember.
