I think it's pretty evident at this point that men like that aren't raised to be that way by their mothers most of the time. It's the circlejerk of other men they learn to fall back on so they never have to feel uncomfortable in social settings. They never really have to be right, or smart, or attractive, or funny, as long as there are other men who will back them up or laugh or agree with whatever they say. And I don't blame them, if I grew up with that kind of dynamic available to me I'd probably resort to it too
