The Midwest welcomes the Bourbon Van! There are a few events happening in Chicago next week including an American single malt festival at Binny’s on the 17th! A collab with SLB would be awesome! Cheers and stay safe!

I absolutely love the variety of whisk(e)y in your list!! I adore the Arran quarter cask, smoked ASM!! A few of these I have never tried so will have to keep an eye out for those! Well done you two! 🙌

Love the channel! You’re right to highlight a gin on your whiskey channel. The explosion of craft distilleries in America that has catalyzed the whole market likely also means they’re producing a gin. Usually only locally available. But some of those gins are stupendous! I’ll just highlight two. First, my hometown distillery in Fredericksburg, VA, A. Smith Bowman, who produces the outstanding John J. Bowman bourbon. They also produce a surprising pair of specialty gins not available in the Virginia ABC store but available from Bowman. The Tinkerman’s line has a “Curiously Bright and Complex” gin and my favorite, “Citrus Supreme.” Both are quite unique, bright, and notably give spark to a gin & tonic while still being fantastic neat. Second, from Greensboro, NC we have Fainting Goat Spirits, who make the excellent Fisher’s line of bourbon and whiskey. But they have a real banger of a gin with their Emulsion gin. WOW. They call it a New America Style gin but there’ll be no gin & tonic with this guy! It’s a mouth explosion like you’ve never tasted-there simply isn’t another gin to compare it with. I only drink it neat, out of the freezer. That way it has a mouthfeel almost like syrup. It’s sort of like the Laphroiag of gins in that it kicks you right between the sticks and stays with you in a simply outstanding way, evocative of potpourri. It is THE most different, most wild spirit and I buy a couple bottles every time I go through Greensboro. I think you can buy Tinkerman’s and Emulsion gin online. Just my two cents! 😊

I am not a gin girl but I keep Prairie Farmers Gin from Minn. around for friends and I kinda like it too it's surprisingly reasonable as well, just a thought if you're running around the Midwest.

Thanks for the video. If you are headed back to northwest indiana. Hit up Lake Liquors in Cedar Lake or Bee Liquors in Hobart both great selection and barrel pics

Costco here in CT started carrying Nikka from the Barrel for $55. Such a great deal that I bought 3. It tastes like a very delicate Scotch. One of my favorites.

Middle west rye at cask strength is very good. TW carries it in Indianapolis for 55ish dollars. It’s easier to find than the regular rye.

The MWS dark pumpernickel cask strength ryes are fantastic but they do vary - my current bottle has a huge dark fruit note that reminds me of Stagg 23A... of course I'm not comparing the bottles directly but the dominant note is similar IMO. If you can sample a few different barrels I'm sure you'll find one that suits you very well.

If you're in Utah, you should stop by Outlaw Distillery. I think its one of the best options for local craft whiskey.
