Source: Gallup Korea. I used the yearly Gallup Korea polls that asked for Koreans' favorite artists. These are very reliable polls that survey thousands of Koreans aged 13-59 every year. For this video, the boy group, girl group, and kpop soloist with the most votes each year was chosen and those artists were the "most loved". In 2007, there was no kpop soloist that made the ranking. Beginning in 2020, Gallup separated the poll to Koreans younger than 39 and older than 40. Because this is kpop, I chose the poll for Koreans younger than 39 for 2020-2023. Please enjoy the video!

they were top5 in certain year and top2 in few others. SNSD took the spotlight 2009-2015

2NE1 was very popular in Korea and they have so many hit songs. I Don’t Care has still not left Melon’s Daily Chart after almost 15 years. Even if they were never the most popular girl group, they were still very popular and definitely legendary.

they were very much loved and so popular but they will always be second to SNSD, especially during 2009-2013 like you mentioned, SNSD dominated that era.

Suju was #2 for boy groups in 2007 and #3 in 2009 after BIGBANG and 2PM. But yeah they’re really popular in China.
