I went to upper management with questions. I asked for help on things I didn't understand. The management team told me I was annoying and didn't give any answer.

I agree with this point of view, sometimes being a "know it all", even as a leader, does more harm... than good.

Hi Mike, do you have a video on how we can avoid depression for letting people go due to business decisions?

I don’t. It’s a shit thing to have to do. You have to do your best to remind yourself what is in your control and what is not. Business decisions, not in your control. Other peoples job performance not in your control. Your ability to empathize and be kind IS in your control so try to focus on that. 🤷🏻♂️

I think the decision is HOW you let someone go, as Mike said "focus on what's in your control." Don't lose Hope and spread Courage. Good luck

Mine asked me for help, but thing is, I'm not a partner, it's not my business, and it's not my duty to take on any more responsibility than I choose to as a paid hourly employee. It's HIS responsibility to hire more people.

Completely agree! When leaders show vulnerability, it can create a safe space for employees to trust them and open up. But here’s the catch-how do you balance being vulnerable without losing authority? Do you think leaders sometimes hold back too much because they fear losing authority?
