@@LRG2019 Love it! I do the same thing - I clean. It makes me feel like I am doing something productive (which it is), but in actuality it is holding me back from getting down to the computer and sending out inquiries to speak, creating a video post or blog, etc... and all the things I should be doing to get to my goal. I used to make excuses all the time. Pick them off one at a time, step by step.
@jimgoldfuss5255 жыл бұрын
@@josiahjohnson1645 That nagging little voice can be quite destructive. I lived with that voice (in the form of anxiety and depression) for almost 40 years before I came to realize it and became aware of just how destructive and sabotaging it was. Thomas Edison said "If we all did the things we are perfectly capable of doing; we would literally astonish ourselves". I took mindful meditation classes to learn to control the inner voice. After that, just learn to take steps that get you out of your comfort zone (or at least push the limits and expand it). Identify specifically something you want (not the world, something smaller and more manageable) and then determine the first step to get you there - and take that step. Just take the step, you will figure out the rest once you move.

Today I will give up the voice saying "I'm not good enough to be on the top". I have been through depression, a suicide attempt, anxiety, insecurity, fear, pain, all of it. Before, people would abandon me because I'm not good enough. Today, I remove people from my life because they distract me. I want my pain to be the stepping stone for people who are suffering, just like I used to suffer. You are one of the people I truly resonate with and hope to be around one day. Like you said on the interview with Tom Bilyeu where I first saw you - when you're around great people, they adjust your mental thermostat. Thank You, Ed! You have changed my life without even knowing me :)

Very sincere Ed Mylett. I have been successful, top 5%, in corporate America-ugh. Title means nothing. They are not saluting you. You are forgotten a week or less after you leave. Where I struggle is in finding fulfillment. My soul loves to speak like you, to do broadcast life coaching, to entertain, educate & empower so I walked away and started individual exec coaching and life coaching and changed lives but it was like wrangling cats. I went from $250K+ to $47K. As a single dad with full custody of a 15yo little girl I come 2nd, I could not make enough money to stay on the path and care for her and now back listening to the corporate baloney to have benefits and care for her but now working it as a side hustle. It isn’t easy at 60yo. Embracing the suffering is not easy. I get distracted because I do not like the corporate job and I welcome distraction. I hope to not die with my greatest regret, not swinging for the fence, not leaving my love and my wisdom and making people smile as my legacy. Thanks for this free insight.

EdMylett what totally resonated with me was reminding myself why all the people I surround myself with at the top of their game, find them self there... they focus on their game plan with zfg to any of life’s disruptions. Sir. Let me share this with you... the first video I watched after I tried to end my life was your interview on impact theory. I hit exhaustion, I had lost my dearest friend to cancer, my beautiful wife and I lived past each other, I had a board of directors squeezing every breath out of me and my business, but beside all those terrible distractions ... the worst of them all was loosing my self confidence. 9 months ago to this date, when I watched an interview I dissected to pieces, with your power words that still resonate with me... Bella’s wedding, Bella’s wedding... YOU at that moment reminded me who the hell I am... why I created music platforms, why my child will never have to ever go through what I went through as a kid, why I’ll never drop the ball, why I keep my word. I will find a way in person to one day soon shake your hand in person, look you straight in the eye and thank you from the bottom of my now healing heart. You bloody better keep doing this till the day you blow your last breath out cause the world need voices of gratitude, empathy and brute power like yourself. To be completely honest with you brother Ed. All of your interviews are amazing. The interview you did with Israel Del Toro was unbelievable. That one there truly hit home for me. I can relate to him because I do have a 4 year old son, and he's all I think about & care about. He's my purpose & my why. I am definitely tired of being sick and tired with certain things in my life. I am currently changing the outcome of our situation and maxing out my life for the betterment of my son's life. The other interview you conducted with John Maxwell was also some amazing content. The golden nuggets I received from both video's were well received. Those two video's have helped me Maxout in area's of my life I never thought I could. That is also why I qualified for a certain trip & a certain event coming up next week to be able to meet you in person sir. Thank you once again brother Ed for always responding, and for making such amazing content available to all of us! God bless. #Maxout #IAmWorldClass #HoustonTX #SingleDadLife #SingleCopLife #EntrepreneurLife

Ed this is just the right time. I separated myself recently from an addiction I struggled with for 8 years and I have realized how distracted I am constantly. Yesterday I recommitted to using audible to keep away from my phone and turned the notifications off for my group chat on my work phone because it is such a distraction. I have also recently acquired a few new books and have been working on finding time to focus and read. Will you talk about what enabled you to know you had what it took to trust in yourself for self employment and how to separate yourself from people and events that are not truly empowering. #maxout

Your videos are really touching my heart and making an impact on my life. My father died four years ago from fourth stage Esophageal cancer when I was 16. I was addicted to marijuana at the time and had dropped out of high school. On top of that I had a double compound fracture on my left arm which left me bed ridden and playing call of duty all day. After my father died I moved to Oakland CA with my mom and sister and thankfully my mother made me quit weed and get back into school. As of today! I am completely one hundred sober from marijuana (going on two years), I’m a manager at my job, I’m in community college, and have taken massive action on my fitness goals and getting in shape! My arm is completely healed and I’m in the best shape of my life. My mom works at SFO and because she has flight benefits my sister and I have traveled all over the world! I truly never believed this would happen to me. But I have been struggling lately with knowing what’s god purpose for my life. I am a Christian as well And I’m actively seeking god. Not having a father figure in my life has resulted in me coming on here to find one lol. But I wanted to see if maybe there was a way I could contact you through email or something ? I’m going to hashtag on instagram and hopefully get chosen ! I just really need help at this point in my life because I’ve been dealing with negative thoughts, low self esteem, and not believing in myself. Thank you for your time.

EdMylett I laughed when you spoke of the sports teams- “we didn’t win, they win!”. I’m on a journey, and frequently, like everyone else, can get in my head and get distracted. I usually equate it to fear- what if this doesn’t work? What if it does? What if they don’t think I’m good enough? Etc... every so often, a good kick in the pants is good, and this gave it to me. My favorite part is also my biggest challenge- scarcity. It is the one hurdle I am still chipping away at, so your words there just inspired me to keep at it! Keep plugging away! I need to focus on me, how am I doing, what am I doing to get better, be successful, to help the most people....and stop getting distracted by “the noise”. I listened to today’s show at least 6 times now. I keep it on in the background, and each time something different pops out....again, thank you! You inspire me!!!

OUTSTANDING content #EdMylett! Used to be a sports radio junkie, especially this time of year with the NFL draft next week. So much happier and content since I shifted my commute listening to you and other high value podcasts. Turn off the radio, and turn your commute into education time. If you drive 25,000 miles per year, that's equivalent to 13 weeks of education/motivation which may be completed per year. Learn a new language, diffuse the road rage with positivity and encouragement, or swift kicks in the "focus" when needed.Thank you for an "in my face" reminder that I am the one I cheer for and support. Those players do shift teams and the "we" comment always bothered me. Nice thing about watching games, especially at home are the frequent commercials. Great time to read a book. You can actually read the book and check out the critical plays during the replays. I've knocked out 100 pages of reading during one NFL game. Baseball was made for radio, so if that's your thing, turn off the TV and turn on the radio. Can work during the broadcast and take action waiting for action on the diamond.To YOUR consistent and continuous SUCCESS!

As a 2x cancer survivor, laser focus becomes more clear. However, the laser focus is more on building relationships than building a career or bank account. During this time, I've spent my entire life focused (without the laser) and things were good, but not the best of the best. After focusing on core values and not so much the people, relationships have soared in regards to quality. Also, during this time my career has skyrocketed in comparison to where I was as well by focusing on building a foundation and not so much a very specific career or even specific person (to marry). I'm the type of person to never be satisfied and always believing in learning and growing in all aspects of life. Saying that, my laser focus has become on the core values of being the very best husband, father, and leader of the home. That laser focus will continue to be on the values and not so much the person whom I plan to marry. It looks as if I will be transitioning my career into finding a way to share my journey and proof-through-experience with how to have a quality marriage as a new career in the future. Thank God for KZbin as this is the place where I find the biggest inspiration through people I do call mentors of mine such as yourself. Thank you as always.

...and now I will be distracted by Instagram because I want to win something. LOL my biggest challenge is staying focused. I love learning, from Ed, Tony, Billy Gene, Russel, and more. My challenge comes when applying what they teach. I run my own business, come to the office to do client things, then realize I have some family things to deal with, or get into one part of my business, that leads me to a different part of my business. at the end of the day I have done a lot, but not necessarily what needed to get done. So that's a long way to say, I fear I am my biggest distraction.

Ed, this message is so powerful and so true, especially with today’s events in Paris with the fire at Notre Dame de Paris. It’s nothing but a distraction to the masses and an instrument to erupt fear and pandemonium. I think whoever did this to an iconic 850 year old church is either trying to prove something or to start conflict. The timing of this message couldn’t have been stronger and the legitimacy of what you say here couldn’t be more inevitable. Thank you brother 🙏🏽♥️

What a way to start the week !!! I realized my obsessions are definitely holding me back from my dreams. Thank you, Sir, for the wakeup call. It's hard to stay focused when that other little voice in my head keeps telling me that people are going to see through my façade and laugh at my dream. (the first voice in my head is Mr. Ed Mylett reminding me my future is up to me). I listen to your podcasts daily, some over and over (like Convention 2017), and you are as compelling here as you are live. Thank you. The distraction I will give up today is the not believing in myself enough to push through the fear. I will do anything to avoid admitting that, and to convince myself that my childhood is in the past, and I have to listen to ME, not my siblings.
