Yes those base silver coins deteriorate but happy with some nice Tudor silver. Hope you stay lucky mate the grass is growing now always a good time to explore your land!

@dalegowing Thanks, Dale. The hols started off a bit rocky, I fell at Newcastle Airport on our way out to Spain. I face planted the carpark , giving me a shiner from h*ll. Most damage was caused by my glasses. It was great to chill in the sun once we got there.

Fantastic finds up Dale. Always nice to rescue a bit of history and those hammered coins. I've been back on the Saxon patch after all that rain early in the year and managed to squeeze out a few more coins and artefacts. Those styka are so small and take some finding. Hope there is more on your spot. Best wishes and happy hunting.

@@dalegowing 3 styka, one very debased. A Roman silique cut to sceat size, Saxon pin head. Best is a ring of three plats of twisted silver thread. Lots of lead. Happy hunting Dale.

Excellent film dale, i like the viewing on the grass of you detecting but the audio is all pointer and cant hear you, that manticore is a hammered hoover for you!

Yes mate I’ll edit more pointer out I’m changing that one soon hopefully it will have a better tone! Once the ground started drying out a bit the hammered seem to want to pop up!

not the best condition hammered, but a hammered is a hammered 👍 and a banger of a monarch too 👍. I found my first cut quater the other week.
