Nope. But I do remember when Microsoft bought hotmail and struggled for years to move the service of Dan Bernstien's qmail MTA running on Linux. Years it took them iirc. A huge embarrassment for Microsoft. Then when they managed it, they got demolished by Gmail. 😅 Oh... I was running my own Mail - on qmail no less, from 1997. Later exim.

My primary email account was gobbled up by Yahoo, I only got a Gmail account when I bought my fist smart phone. Never used the Gmail account, but because of my phone I have to check it every so ofter to delete everything.

For me my main email account is yahoo and secondary outlook.Though I have multiple gmail accounts as well. I rarely use any of them, sad to see yahoo user base shrinking.

Hotmail was popular only because of MSN Messenger. There wasnt really a competitor to MSN Messenger.... There was Yahoo messenger but it sucked and it later was found to have spyware. Now Facebook messenger is the popular one. I remember when Facebook went "open" as in available to everyone and MSN messenger died. I used to have a Myspace when it was popular, a Bebo account when popular and I saw in the UK Bebo killed Myspace. Now its Facebook and I cant see Facebook being beaten, since almost EVERYONE has an account and therefore its use with its own messenger service. Too many people now use this I cant see a decline. Its like how now everyone uses Whatsapp these days instead of Kik.
