Can't be done. Random lyrics say more than badly written lyrics, lies more than that, when you know how to listen. If you hear that way, you can see the sense this song could make, if you knew what the references tie to. And the subconscious doesn't lie at the deepest levels, once you set the hook. I got to see Beck live around the time Odelay came out. I have got to say, he is an AMAZING performer. He doesn't just get up there and sing. He is a consummate showman, and none of the other concerts I've ever been to ever had nearly as much frenetic energy oozing out of every second like his did. It was remarkable. There was a brass section on stage at one part, he entered on a slide before one song, he was always running around the stage and there were tons of other performers backing him up, it was just the greatest show, I HIGHLY recommend seeing him in concert if you ever get the chance.
