@@devingullatte3859 some guys make similar power with aluminum heads because their combos aren't put together right and doesn't compliment one another. I'm talking about the heads and cam and intake if your combo isn't right or the cam is too small for the heads or you don't have an intake that takes advantage. This particular combo is just put together right with solid tuning. A good set of aluminum heads with a good matching cam and intake can make well over 300 like 330+ range pretty easy.

@hotrodray68022 жыл бұрын
You need to vary the cam advance until you hit the sweet spot. Usually good for 20/20. Yes its a pain on a SBF and costly on the dyno, but ......
@willsmith8586 Жыл бұрын
I feel like your vert should be making more power than that with the TFS kit. Maybe roller rocker sizing or maybe your motor was built a tad tight. I know a tight timing change can consume up to 10 HP, which is crazy. The Calypso might have the opposite. it sounds like the motor has a bunch of used parts. I wouldn't be surprised if that timing chain was already broke in. He might be running those Cobra 1.7 Rockers as well. The custom cam is probably perfect for it.
@GearHead704 Жыл бұрын
I agree with you, the vert should. We actually found some computer and computer injector harness problems that I think will fix the car the next time it goes on the dyno.

The best heads cam intake setups for stock bottom can make 320+ of its a really well thought out Max effort combo but this is solid for gt40 stuff.

I had gt40 heads. Gt40p intake. Lightly ported stuff. B cam. E85. Don't even think fuel made a difference but that combo made just over 300 to tore. BBK shorty headers. And that's it

Great video I see that this car has barely anything done to it and in my opinion makes a ton of power for what it is like you said it would definitely benefit from a new MAF but other than that I think the horsepower numbers would be almost even with yours?. I don't understand there has to be some kind of work done on those heads to be making that kind of power pretty cool though super clean love the way everything has been painted and detailed under the hood another gorgeous 🦊 😍 ... I checked out your new channel by the way left you a comment there and sub'd! Hopefully we get to see those 18in reimagined cobras on Tarheel soon!

@@GearHead704 well you could kind of get an idea by doing a compression test to see what the numbers are in all 8 cylinders and also what your oil pressure is can give you a little bit of an idea to depending on how the motor was built for bearing tolerances and what oil pump etc... I'm sure Matt from foxresto would be able to give you a good idea once you guys do a compression test I've had a buddy that ran the same setup you are and he was right around 300 so I think you're pretty decent there's other things that you can probably do to gain a little bit to get a little more he had an electric fan and no power steering but if it's a driver and definitely want your power steering unless you do like a Volvo electric pump or something so that kind of bumps it up HP a little bit too! I thought it was really low because I had an Edelbrock set up on my car and I used to put 2-3 car lengths on him every time we ran against each other and he had a fresh motor and his didn't rev as high either but some combos or just odd balls I think my car was gifted one of those Wednesday cars or something LOL
@whatthefox3022 жыл бұрын
Do you run a stock ECU in your Vert? Also is it an auto or a manual? I believe if you do aftermarket H/C/I then the stock ECU is trash you need something aftermarket just like all the aftermarket stuff on the engine itself. Definitely need to think about that cause a custom dyno tune on a Holley Terminator X would be a better option than that stock stuff!
@GearHead7042 жыл бұрын
My vert is a stock ECU with a SuperChip. It is a manual (T-56 Magnum). We are going to build my 347 on a stock ECU with a SuperChip and 90mm MAF and will see how that guys. If numbers are low I'll definitely look into something like a Terminator X.
